The rooms are small and minimalist but spotless, comfy and warm and all have great views over the bay. The restaurant serves delicious seafood, highly recommended on a Monday night when the rest of St Valery seems to close down. The breakfast is a bit sparse for the price, but there are plenty of options in the town.

Stayed one night enroute to Loire Valley. Old building facing canal and estuary, but on a very busy road (day and night) with considerable parking problems. All the rooms are very small and ours was sparsely furnished although clean and newly decorated. Shower only. The food in the restaurant was very good with a wide choice of seafood. Breakfast however... More

For 65 euros I think this is a bargain. Yes the decor is a bit odd and the rooms are small but if you are staying for one or two nights you can't really go wrong. Comfy beds - excellent quality linen - with plenty of spare pillows in the room. - TV with satellite channels were included ( I... More

Used the hotel as a base whilst visiting the Baie de Somme Railway. The rooms are fairly basic but spotlessly clean and everything worked, the view accross the bay was wonderful and made you forget the room! As others have said the traffic noise on a Sunday is a little irritating but that view is worth it! We found most... More

we stayed 2 nights last week 15th june - the hotel is well situated and peaceful. However the staff really could do better with a warm welcome. I was surprised there were no drinks facility in the room (a french thing?). the breakfast @ 9 euro was rather steep. parking is not free until 7-00pm, although i did notice the... More

We arrived on spec and had a lovely room overlooking the estuary. It was spotlessly clean. The only (very slight) drawback was that, as this was a Sunday, we couldn't park near the hotel until after 7pm, because of local traffic regulations, but that applies equally to several other hotels nearby. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening,... More

We stayed here on spec, so without looking at the previous Tripadvisor reviews, or we might not have done so. I had enjoyed a lovely stay here 25 years ago (when I was between wives, so maybe that was the reason I had enjoyed it then so much!), and should have remembered the adage "never go back". However, we found... More

We have visited St. Valery many times over the last few years and have stayed at the Hotel Du Port, as well as eaten in its restaurant. We have always had a great welcome and good food. On this occasion, Easter Tuesday, we arrived at the restaurant for lunch at about 1,45 p.m. The place was busy but not chock-a... More

We have stayed at the hotel du port et bains three times, the first quite some years ago before the modernisation, and more recently, twice in the last couple of years: the last time july 2008. It is a miserable place with a very nice view. Welcome is the least used word in their vocabulary. The last meal I had... More

An interesting little hotel right on the quayside in St Valery sur Somme, well located to tour Picardy, Amiens cathedral, the World War One battlefields, local birdlife etc. Don't miss the Sunday morning market just minutes along the quay north of the hotel. Everything from live rabbits to Indian clothes with lots of smelly cheeses, flowers and the 'stain resistant'... More
