My husband and I stayed here for two nights while visiting the South Omo Valley. We found the accommodations to be quite comfortable and peaceful. Service was excellent and food good. We especially enjoyed the sitting area outside our room that overlooked the cliffs. From there we could see the baboon families romping through the trees and chasing each other....

For rural Ethiopia, Swayne's offers nice rooms & comfortable beds. The views from the clif are great. The hotel has been expanded and updated and the dining area has been nicely improved.

Great place, nice (seemed to be recently renovated) rooms, unbelievable view and the food at the restaurant is great!
Make sure you stay between rooms 4 and 20 to have the best view.
Price is a little steep (50 dollars for ferenjis), but worth it!

We were shown to the rooms, just near to the beautiful cliff view, the garden was beeing rebuilt and it was uncomfortable to walk the long way to the rooms. There were baboons in the garden, near the cliff, and we could spot birds too. Very quite and peaceful. The bed was a bit hard, the shower did work, but...

Swayne's wasn't our first choice, unfortunately the Paradise Lodge was all booked so we ended up at Swayne's for 3 nights while visiting the Arba Minch area. The Swaynes is of the typical mediocre tourist quality found so often in Ethiopia. Rooms are ok, but lack air conditioning. Service in the restaurant is lousy. Furniture needs upgrading. Often sold out in high-season. Then they'll give you a tent.

Had a nice bungalow with a garden and a garden wooden chair overlooking the rift valley, with plenty of wildlife that flies walks and creeps and crawls past if...

Pros
- decent dinner, restaurant has atmo at night, and once they do take take your order, food gets served fast (both nights I had to walk up to the chalkboard and tell the waiters /waitresses what I wanted coz they just sat/ stood around, but staff are friendly)
- awesome view of the two lakes, good place for birdwatching...

Three people of our group, all who had fish for diner, were very sick the day after due to food poisening. Chairs in restaurant are broken, garden not maintained and very muddy after a rain shower. The service at breakfast is very slow and certainly not on time; take this in mind if you have to leave early! Instead of...
