We have stayed here at Fraoch Lodge many times and have always found the owners to be friendly and attentive. The home made cooking is excellent and a lot of love and care quite obviously goes into it as you'll find Rebecca's recipes are very unique and original. The 'light' breakfast does what it says on the tin, personally we... More

I am shocked by some of the reviews for Fraoch Lodge as my friend and I had a lovely two night stay (not as part of a tour). The hosts couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were full of expert advice and were interested in their guests without being intrusive. Fraoch Lodge’s website sums up the accommodation... More

A group of 12 went to this place, spending good money in a beautiful area golfing and walking. The owners were very unwelcoming as soon as we got there told to take our shoes off this was okay until we noticed both the owners had theirs on ?? rooms were okay however the child that had the run of the... Our son, Gregor, is 3 years old. He lives full time at Fraoch Lodge. He has grown up with guests in his home since birth so he likes to be friendly. He doesn't understand as yet the difference between guests rooms and private space and often invites visiting children up to his room. If a door is shut though, he... More

Unkind hosts who don't seem to like their guests. Don't forget your towel, you won't have one, don't leave anything valuable in your room because you won't have a key. The reason: you're going loose these (people use to loose the keys she will say to you!)!!!! Don't forget to "strip your bed before leaving"!!!!!! (if you are kind you... More

Fraoch Lodge is a Gold Green tourism business and as such we provide towels on request rather than automatically. We will improve the signage so that all guests are aware that towels are available if they need them. We ask our guests to help us out by stripping the beds on their morning of departure as we only have part... More

There is no better place in Scotland to relax after a day out on the hill, Trust me we have stayed in plenty!!! Rebecca’s home cooking food is always excellent, just what you need after a cold day in the Cairngorms. The breakfasts are great too, the rooms are spacious and clean and the real fire in the living room... More

We stayed at Fraoch Lodge between Christmas and New Year 2010 and would highly recommend it. The food was absolutely excellent, Rebecca's delicious home cooking is just what you need after a cold day in the Cairngorms. The breakfasts are substantial, the rooms spacious and clean and the real fire in the living room is a great place to sit... More

We stayed at Fraoch Lodge for one night and I am still wondering , where the 4-star-rating comes from. The bed sheets hadn't been changed (hair all over it) and there were cut finger nails in the washing basin in our room. The breakfast ist very "light" (a spoonfull of porridge and a slice of toast). The "attitude" of the... More

We visited this lodge with our Australian friends, we wanted to be close to the Boat of Garten so it was excellent location-wise. Hosts were friendly. Bedrooms were basic but clean as was the shower/toilet. The nightly cost of £16 per person included light breakfast, which was fine for us but would suggest upgrading to the cooked breakfast option which... More

I would like to start by pointing out that I have not stayed at this Hostal. I did however phone to book for my family 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 12. I was greeted over the phone by what appeared to me as someone with a very short and brisk attitude who I was inconveniencing by calling... More

Stayed here three times over the last five years and always trying to find an excuse to go back -shame it 400 miles from home.. Food is great, lounge is great, rooms are great, owners are great - nothing really to complain about, even the summer midges here aren't as bad!
