Just returned from our second visit to this wonderful haven of peace, hospitality and excellent food. This time we decided to go for a long weekend, using my husband's birthday as an excuse. We received a wonderful welcome and a homemade birthday cake which was gorgeous. Following Jim's advice we had a great weekend out and about enjoying the area... More

It was a pleasure to welcome these returning guests from Wales and to make their celebration weekend memorable for all the right reasons. Their commendation is very much appreciated. We are happy to report that an earlier suggestion regarding sprinkler heads for hair washing has now been completed in all bathrooms with the installation of mixer taps on the baths... More

Our guests complimented us on our facilities and hospitality at departure with nice words about our food in the visitors book. Our basic philosophy at Inverstrae is that homeliness is encouraged by the food eaten round our table. To receive praise in both reviews and visitors book for the culinary pleasures enjoyed here is so so satisfying for us and... More

Our hosts Ina and Jim were extremely welcoming and the food absolutely great, served in generous, tasty helpings. Our room window gave out onto the green hilly expanses of the Highlands, providing us with breathtaking views without even having to... More

We were delighted to provide a base for our guests to sample the delights of the Highlands in their first visit to Scotland. The comments generally and those regarding the bagpipe recital are particularly welcomed and reflect our aim in providing unique services. In this case the bagpiping was performed by Jade Brown a 15 y/o friend and member of... More

Inverstrae is a real gem in the highlands. The hospitality and friendliness of the owners, Ina and Jim are second to none. Inverstrae is a bungalow located amongst the most beautiful scenery of the highlands. Situated down a small road and then accessed over a field track, the peace is wonderful and ensures a good nights rest. The accommodation is... More
