Located approx 1/2 mile outside Alte itself up long steep hill (NB: cyclists) - great views across Algarve to the coast. Rooms basic and rather dated but ok - nice little patio onto gardens. Restaurant adequate but more interesting and cheaper food to be had at cafe a ponte in the village. Recommended if you want to stay in Alte

We called in for lunch on 10th.November - no other choice being apparent. The resturant and bar were under-staffed and apparently overwhelmed by a mini-bus load of unhappy-looking tourists. We stayed for 2 nights incl. breakfast on a special rate that was so special in fact (as cheap as chips) that we expected to get no surprises, no extras, just basic bed & coffee. You definitly get more than your money's worth.. Excellent customer service, very very friendly staff. Breathtaking views from the hotel. VERY clean rooms and bathrooms.
