A truly lovely hotel in a colonial building which has been lovingly restored by its English and Brazilian owners. All the rooms and common spaces are tastefully decorated with antigue furnishings. The breakfasts are lovely - served at table, are is the wonderful formal tea.

this is a great hotel in a beautiful house and with a garden to die for. Breakfast and afternoon tea are just perfect, as are the rooms and the service. It is on the pricey side, but it is worth the overall experience. Will come back!!!

The Solar da Ponte is a great little hotel, with just 18 rooms. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and English speaking guests will have no difficulties there. This is a very pleasant hotel. Right in the middle of this charming town. The room was spacious, very well decorated with a wonderful view of the garden; flowers in the room ( taken away on the second day and not replaced), lots of toileteries in the ( small) bathroom; turn down service at night.
