Stayed at the "Encanto" #5 the very first unit, at the bottom of the complex, unit looks cute but from day one we found out the place was full of roaches. I've never seen something like that, I actually bought a fogger and put it on the unit, after one hour, we found dozens and dozens of roaches in the... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in November and, like many reviews attest, we wish we had stayed longer. Our entire experience here was relaxed and fun. The staff were very friendly and Mary Lee is an engaging, larger-than-life personality and was very fun and informative to talk to. The inn itself is unique...sort of a sprawling... More

this is a special place! we had an amazing 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment with a fantastic view of the water and near by Gilligans Island. We had happy hour daily and just took it all in after our busy days exploring (see snorkeling, dry forest, Cabo Rojo light house and beaches, Paguera and Coffee Plantation reviews!). We took kayaks out... More

We only got to stay one night, is my biggest complaint. The room was beautiful, with a rustic charm. A wonderful room, and for a little extra kayaks to explore the bay and island. I would come back for sure, just want a couple more nights. No television for those looking for a pure getaway.

We only stopped by for kayaking.... As said previously....it was hard to find anyone...for service, and to pay..... $20 an hour ...or $40 for the day.....for a double...... And... from Mary Lee...a good deal of valuable info

This place probably was great 20 years ago or so. However, now the owner is 89 years old and clearly can't be on top of things anymore. My main concern is cleanliness, all the walls & floors are covered in reed mats which clearly haven't been cleaned in ages. They do seem to be well-sprayed in insecticide, however, as we... More

We stayed for a night at Mary Lee's while we were driving all over the island. It is a lovely, laid-back property in a beautiful setting, facing the Caribbean and bordering the Guanica forest reserve. We stayed in Ruthie's, a lovely room with wicker furniture and done in pastel green shades. The hotel is quirky and independent and not at... More

Mary has transformed mundane beachfront housing into tropical paradise villas. Mary is warm and welcoming to this end-of-the-road, must-see treasure. Literally and figuratively Guanica is a long way from San Juan!

Good value and comfort. Clean too. Location of apartment was nothing special but there were wonderful beaches and snorkeling just down the road by car.

We stayed for two nights and loved it. This is a unique property and one of the most memorable - in a good way - places I ever stayed. Stayed in La Contenta, which is a spacious apartment and includes a fully equipped kitchen and a full covered porch overlooking the water and islands. There's also a separate outdoor eating... More
