What a marvellous place! It was snowing outside, but our rooms were toasty warm, and incredibly well equipped. My 92 year old father was given the 'disabled' room as he has poor eyesight; it was ideal, with thoughtful placing of furniture and a spacious bathroom. We just wished we could have stayed longer.

This was an ideal place to stay for an exploration of an intriguing part of the country. It was extremely central: a few minutes' walk took us to numerous pubs and restaurants; however, it was also very quiet indeed despite facing the main road. Disappointing one night stay, given the previous comments. The bedroom was noisy from traffic but mainly from adjoining rooms. Fake wood floors meant that noise travels and is disturbing. Very dangerous entrance is helped a bit by a television monitor but still not easy. Breakfast okay - standard b and b fare and certainly nothing special for the price charged.

Stayed here to attend a birthday party, had been recommended by the host but was still pleasantly surprised by the hotel! Massive room, very comfy bed, 4 poster too! Danny fine breakfast too! Highly recommended.

When we checked in there were breakfast smells still lingering in our room above the kitchen. A sherry decanter had been thoughtfully provided but the glasses were sticky. We had a 4 poster bed with a very comfy mattress and a rather surprising extra feature - flashing blue fairy lights in the bed canopy, disconcerting if you had a hang-over!... More
