Ideal location. Some negative vibes. We stayed one night in the first cabin where the sea is so loud you dream of the Northern Line! Then 3 nights in a luxury cabin at the rear of the property. The accomodations are simple, peaceful, purposeful: just what we like. You don't have to eat there. We took Room Only rates and ate... More

I went on a vacation here with my 2 best friends this past February. I was blown away. First of all it started with the great service from the lady in charge. Friendly, kind and very welcoming. I had reserved 3 hammocks for me and my friends and we were also lucky enough to have the entire hammock sleeping area... More

Well, after reading the reviews and website of "La Sirena" we somehow expected a lot and, in the end, we left quite disappointed. First of all we had a reservation which was lost or whatever by the lady responsible and - with no other choices left - we had to sleep in hammocks. While the night in the hammock was... More

I had read the previous reviews and so decided against La Sirena. We arrived in Palomino without any reservations, for two nights enroute to Cabo de La Velas, but it was the last week of high season so rooms were scarce. We checked out a few places that had space and decided on Marias. Not thrilled with it after the... More

La Sirena has beautiful lodging by the sea shore and Carolina is really taking care of her guests and her cooking is delicious. We stayed in a beautiful room on the second floor right on the beach, with our private little balcony. Palomino, and La Sirena, is paradise to me.

Where do I start - apallingly unclean beds and poorly maintained hammocks, incredibly bad service by both the manager (Cesar) and the other woman working there, overpriced lodging, food and services. The very worst part, though - Cesar showed up at 1am one morning, blitz drunk (he was muttering and staggering), and got his motorcycle for a drunken trip into... More

We arrived in Palomino after several dusty days in La Guajira and were excited to relax at the beach. Upon arrival, we looked at the dingy downstairs of the main cabana and decided that it was overpriced for what was offered. We decided instead to sleep in hammocks at a more reasonable price. The young lady who greeted us upon... More

Negatives: Rooms and facilities are super basic and need refurbishment. Overpriced. Positives: Breakfast was good. Setting is amazing - mostly empty beach at front. Wished we stayed next door - Finca Escondida - same price and better value and they had a restaurant Take plenty of cash with you - no ATMs

We stayed here for two idyllic days on a practically deserted beach. The double room at the top is huge with stellar views and your own little balcony right on the beach (much better than the 'cabin'). The site manager was really friendly and chopped up free coconut for us on our last morning. When you get off the bus... More

My boyfriend and I just got back a week ago and ended our too short a trip in and around Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. A dream of mine since I was young was to return after visiting the area when I was a child with my family and have always wanted to return. We had a lovely time and... More
