We stayed in the hotel after being on a tour of the Tajung Puting Park for 3 days. We were shocked to find this "European" decor/styled hotel. I'm not positive they know what the overall theme of the hotel is, but it was clean, provided a very nice breakfast and pool setting. We stayed one night, and at the cost... More

First time in kalimantan, Impressed by the hotel lobby But we got the old room maybe because other rooms are in renovation. The bed matress wasnt comfy, the room was dark as well as the bathroom. The water smelled bad ( too tired to ask why to the staff) Breakfast was ok, staffs were friendly and helpful.

For many years we have stayed at this hotel -known as the Blue Kecubung (named after the local gem) until quite recently when it became the Grand Kecubung. Perhaps this new name coincides with the new second wing built in 2012. For Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) I would actually rate this hotel excellent, but I think most Western travelers would probably... More

I think most people would agree that the foyer and seating area is very attractive and comfortable at The Blue Kecubung. There was some confusion when we checked in as I had booked and paid for an Executive Room (bit of a language problem but I think there were none avail) but we discovered later that we were actually given... Until recently Hotel Blue Kecubung in Pangkalan Bun (Western Central Kalimantan) was the lead Hotel. As a result, it used to be over priced but visitors had no choice but to settle for Hotel Blue Kecubung. At a rate of Rp625,000 per night, it is more expensive than leading 3 star hotels in Jakarta. Facilities available are minimal, & rooms... More

Choices in this town are few, and at the time of my stay back in May this was the best available hotel. I think that a new more modern hotel has recently opened. This was just a one night stop for our group after 3 nights in Tanjung Puting National Park. So, we were excited to find such 'luxury' after... More

The hotel hall is impressive, but it looks as if they ran out of budget after building it. Considering the price, the rooms are poor, specially the bathroom.

This hotel was a good location, the rooms were comfortable and the price was very reasonable. We had dinner in the hotel and it was nice food. The breakfast was good also. Bear in mind the location you are in when you first see this hotel, the town it is in is a thriving town by Borneo standards and it is used as a base to all the other areas of interest in the island. When you bear that in mind, the hotel might as well be the Ritz! The lobby is... More

We stayed at the Blue Kecubung Hotel for one night before going into the National Park to see Orang-utans. Our experience of the hotel was very different to the previous reviewer who mentioned to "avoid the hotel at all costs".
