I did cooking class here with my fiancée. Bronti taught us how to make Rendang and Gado Gado. Delicious 😋 We also had breakfast and enjoyed the incredible views across the river and into the jungle. I would definitely recommend coming here. We’ll be back!

We had a great stay at Jungle Inn! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Everything is well arranged, from transport to food and excursions. The rooms are also nice and provide a great view over the river and jungle. As it is the last hotel on the road it provides unrestricted view and access to the jungle. Thanks to Alde, Intjah, Rosie for arranging our drives and the unforgettable jungle tour. And we especially want to thank Blade for his great kindness. Too many names that we should have remembered, many thanks to the whole crew :) (hope we spelled the names right :))

This place is great, as well as the service, and the people! Its rooms are nice and they have beautiful views of the jungle. The food is good, and you should try the lassis!! Apart from the hotel, the jungle treks and tubing are amazing!

Totally recommended!

great place, nature, people and hotel. I came to the hotel but I left friends. After trekking with Dede in the jungle and adventures with the Orangutans, I will say that it was the best place I could choose in Indonesia. I recommend it very much. Trust me

Walking away from the river up the hill I reached a house and met a man with a motorbike who kindly took me to the Jungle Inn,a room was offered within a few feet of the waterfall, the four poster was constructed of logs from the forest, as was the desk and chair, the room being made from wood offcuts half logs and marine ply.the bathroom made from old bricks with concrete walls decorated with a roughly carved flower, plus a a crouching style bog,the roof was corrugated iron,it was reasonably priced for the sum total of £3.50. The are far more expensive rooms available. After a slow start the staff became quite chatty,

We have two nice things to say about this hotel: Good location, okay food.
The rest is not so great. The rooms were dirty, we paid a great deal for an extra bed and that was almost just a blanket on the hard floor. We were 5 persons (in 2 rooms) and we got 2 small wet towels to share - 5 PEOPLE!! We had booked 3 nights and were asked to pay when we arrived. We didn´t have enough cash so we could get something to eat AS WELL (it is very far to the nearest ATM) but we were told that we could just eat at the hotel and we agreed......big mistake. When we were checking out 3 days later we had suddenly been eating and drinking for 10! After a very long argument they agreed to take a few of the beers they said we had on our first night there of the bill. We had been travelling all day and were tired, therefore we went to bed early and we never drink more than one beer - we travel with our 3 children! We have never experienced something like this before, we really feel like the staff just wanted every penny we had. WE CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! THEY CHEAT YOU!

We stayed at Jungle Inn with our two boys aged 7 and 8. We loved it!!! We organised everything through email direct with Jungle Inn. We were picked up at Medan airport by a comfortable private car and driven to Bukit Lawang 3 hours. On arriving, we were met by Hass and a few of the crew who took our bags by motor bike up the path while we did the 10-15 min walk.

The Inn is located by the side of the river and is at the end of the strip of accommodations. There are a few more accommodations further up the river, more separate to the main group. The restaurant area overlooks the river and the mountain jungle on the other side. Great view. The decorations of the restaurant and the steps around the inn are awesome and very different.

Our room was decorated in an amazing and individual style. We had a beautiful outdoor (but private) shower with hot water and a western toilet. We slept in an enormous bed with the kids on mattresses on the floor. We brought a mosquito net with us and suspended that over the kids mattresses. The room was very large and had heaps of room, even with the mattresses, allowing for the Lego and drawing to spread out across the floor. We had a large verandah with a partial view and a hammock.

We loved the waterfall at the rear of the Inn complex and swam there most days. We loved swimming in the river in front of Jungle Inn. We went into the Friday market in the village which was very interesting and not in any way touristy. We visited the Bukit Lawang Trust English School which was a great experience for the kids. We loved the touristy shop area which was very quiet all week but was incredibly crowded and busy on the weekend, Sunday especially, with local tourists.

Jungle Inn organised for us to visit the orangutan feeding platform which was a great morning and intro into the jungle. We also did a one day jungle trek and river raft with Hass at Jungle Inn. For our family of four we had 2 guides. We saw over 12 orangutans including mums and babies, we also saw gibbons and baboons from a distance. Our guides did not feed or encourage feeding of animals. Our boys did fine in the jungle trek and Hass and Num helped with the boys and took rests as needed. We all loved the river raft back (where they tie large tyre tubes together into a large raft and a group pile on and raft the "boat" down the minor rapids).

I had been concerned about mosquitos and came prepared but we saw very few mosquitos at Jungle Inn. We did see some on the jungle trek but the repellent prevented bites. (But bring repellent with you.)

And the food at Jungle Inn was the best food in Indonesia! The nightly singing and guitar was good fun. The staff at Jungle Inn were awesome!

One afternoon while sitting at the river side, we looked up into the mountains and saw an orang-utan making his nest for the night!

My son and I stayed at the Jungle Inn for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Wished we could have stayed longer, The staff were friendly and helpful. Acommodation was good, We stayed in one of the Honeymoon Suite where we had a natural waterfall just outside our room. Monkeys came to visit us in the evenings. My son really enjoyed it. We did a 1 day trek in Bukit Lawang with Marhen Sembiring or sometimes he is called Papola (dewatawar@yahoo.com) He was a wonderful guide and knowledgeable. We managed to see a female orang-utan and her baby. Even close encounters with some black gibbons, No orang-utan came to the feeding platform in the park for a feed. In a way, I am glad that their is an abundant of food in the jungle and they are not visiting the platform. Rafting back was fun. Met a couple who paid for a jungle trek and the guide did not turn up. So please beware of some unscrupulous guides.
