The sorroundings are really beautiful and spending the night in a castle is quite impressive (there was even an armour in the corridor!). We were four friends and rented a triple room with an extra bed, which was perfectly OK for a couple of nights. The room was really clean and beautiful. The whole B&B is clean and so nicely...

THe location is great - a short ferry ride from Vaxholm. However be careful when you take the ferry as it was only free from 11am to 5pm out of those hours you either have to pay about 80 for the trip ,or book a boat taxi from reception which can be much chaper depending on the number of people...

Stayed with wife and 3 month old baby for 4 nights in august as a base to explore the archipelago. Wanted to be close to roads in case something went awry with the baby. Chose this hotel/b&b because vaxholm hotel had fairly negative reviews trip advisor reviews. It really was a great set up. The 2 women hosts were great....

We arrived at Kastellet after a busy conference in Stockholm and we were in need of rest and relaxation. Kastellet was perfect, Ewa and Lotta, the Inn's mother and daughter proprietors, were gracious and helpful.
