My husband and I spent a week in Gutersloh at the Park Hotel. Centrally located, surrounded by lovely old churches, restaurants and shopping. Ask for a room with a view of churches. This is a very slick business hotel with good amenities and excellent staff, very courteous, efficient and professional. The decor is 80s German opulent, and the rooms are cavernous and finished in the same style. There is one glaring fault though, the room positively reeked of smoke. It was very, very unpleasant.

Overall very nice hotel and Mrs. Mohn (Bertelsmann) seems to care a lot for the property ! I also like the fact that the management reviews the tripadvisor comments - rather unusual for German standards. Two Minus points however. The hotel is located five minutes from the station and the town. Lovely hotel, friendly staff and good location. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Gym is good and the ParkBar is lovely in the evening for a drink. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet. Only criticism would be that the bathroom towels could be a bit bigger but a minor point from a wonderful stay.

I normally try to stay here when in Gütersloh. Recently the exchange rate has precluded staying here and I have opted for "lesser" hotels.
