In the weekend of mid-Feb we planned our trip to Ranthambore from Gurgaon with a stop over at Burja Haveli Hotel on the way for one night. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Alwar and the highway. Probably should have been our first sign. Entry is through a very badly kept garden area which then ends onto a... More

We discovered this property completely by accident. On a recent trip to India we decided to do a quick getaway from Delhi and were looking for a Haveli style hotel in Alwar. The place is stunningly restored. The service is exceptional. The only slight critique I would have is that the bathrooms are clean and western but suffer from no... More

Burja Haveli - less said the better. The rooms are below average with frequent power cuts. I will advice people, if ever they go there, to have their meals in their rooms, unless, of course, you don't mind big rats giving you the company in their ill-maintained restaurant. Infact, avoid having food in the haveli all together. It's no way... More

Burja Haveli is named after a village on the outskirts of Alwar called Burja. The Haveli is a several hundred years old building cleverly converted into a heritage hotel. But the traditional ambiance and the very courteous staff is the knock out. Food is great even for those who are vegetarians. A good option for those looking for a good... More

We were a group of friends and we just stayed one night but enjoyed our experience. Not much to write about in terms of the property itself, its an old building but has all the basic amenities sorted. The rooms were huge, and the service was excellent. The food was good too right from the tea, to the snacks served... More

we checked in just before independence day...the reception was very warm and cordial...there is nothing immediately striking about this haveli, but once you stay there, it kind of grows on you....the staff is helpful, service is nice...i found the food to be really good....they have introduced non-veg items but it is not disclosed openly and not included on the menu....since... I travelled with my wife to this hotel to spend 3 nights there. Initially we were offerred some shabby looking room on the ground floor. The room was not at all upto the mark. More over, it had damp all over its wall. Immediately after checkin we complained about the room quality. Initially the staff were reluctant to allocate any... More

THe rooms were beautiful and huge, the service was what you would get in a royal home, not a hotel. NOthing was too much trouble for them. THe garden surrounding the haveli was lovely, the people proud and happy to narrate the history of the place to us. THe owners, who live upstairs, treated us like beloved relatives, taking us...
