As the name says it, this is actually a convent (and I think also a school), run by catholic nuns. It is very clean, the rooms are literally spotless, but a bit on the dark and small side and quite basic: Twin bed, chair, small coffee table, a few hooks, that's it. Our room had decent hot water, our kids... More

Ruteng is not the highlight of Flores by any means, but if you find yourself here then this is the best value place in town. As a convent, its spotless and cheap. Poking around the convent and listening to choir practice makes this a quirky stay. Its a fifteen minute walk into the centre of town. More

This hotel saved us from the hell of Hotel Rima. We had endless hot water showers, a big, super clean room and it was very quiet and peaceful. We got to listen to the nuns chanting and singing during breakfast (though the breakfast won't win any awards). The cost of 190,000 was definitely worth it. They have a check out... More

Yes -- these are rooms in a convent and probably the newest, cleanest place to stay in Ruteng. Rooms are on the small side, super-clean, with good hot water and water pressure and a big bar of soap in the bathroom. The room had twin beds and a small nightstand. Breakfast could have been better (banana, rice, nescafe/tea, egg) so... More

Very positive experience. Very clean and ample rooms, serene atmosphere and great leadership by a charismatic Mexican nun. We thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay there after a tiring tour across Flores. More

We made a stop-over in Ruteng on our way to Bajawa. The hotel is new. Sisters are taking good care of it and it is very clean. We had there our only hot shower in 2 weeks in Flores. They arranged as well our transport to go Bajawa. Breakfast was good. One addtional tip : write down the address and... More

Small but clean rooms with hot running water. I had my first decent shower whilst in Flores at this hotel which in itself makes this place memorable. If you are staying in Ruteng I would recommend this Catholic Mission Hotel. More

It is not a luxury hotel but spotless and very nice hotel. It was also relatively cheaper compare to the other hotels around Flores. It costs me Rp. 250,000/night (18 quid) for triple room including breakfast for three persons! It is also surrounded by beautiful landscape of Ruteng. Prior booking may be required +62 (385) 22834 - 22279 to guarantee... More

So I get here the night before Easter and the entire town is completely CLOSED down. Unlike the rest of Indonesia, Flores is very Catholic. Easter is a big thing, and the whole town was at church including all the hotel owners! I was beginning to really regret my decision to have the driver go all the way to Ruteng... More
