I spent two nights recently during a trip to the south of France in Belves. I selected the Hotel Clement V and was very pleased with my stay! The room was beautifully decorated, with a nice terrace, and the hostess, Muriel was very nice. Muriel took the time to explain to my friend and I restaurants to go to, sites... More

This hotel is way too expensive for what you get. My family and I have stayed in hotels all over France and all over the world and this has to be the worst value for money we have experienced. Also, check their Ts and Cs - they are very onerous and they will take your money if you book and... More

We stayed in Belves as a base for exploring that area of Dodogne. Parking in the main square is a bit tricky so it's a lot easier to park in the main car park near the look out point and then a short walk to the hotel (well sign posted). It is a small quaint town, full of character and... More

Everything about this hotel was perfect. We stayed in the Pope's Apartment which was wonderfully decorated, the breakfast was great. location was perfectly situated in the middle of town, the owners incredibiy helpful and we were sorry to leave. That is always a good sign of a great hotel! We particularly enjoyed buying some bread, cheese and wine and having... More

After a bitter disappointment with a house rental, Muriel and Michel Fischer owners of Clement V turned a nightmare into a dream visit. We especially appreciated the fact that Muriel completely understood our predicament and welcomed us warmly to her charming hotel. The Clement V dates back to the 11th Century which is reflected in the decor. Our room was... More

Clement V is a wonderful base for touring the Dordogne River valley. Charming theme rooms and a beautiful breakfast room combine with the incredible hospitality of Muriel & William Fischer. You do not just stay at Clement V, you are "taken care of" by Muriel who each morning reviews your itinerary, offers helpful comments, corrects your struggling memory of high... More

The owner is a delightful woman who really wants you to enjoy your stay. We had a problem with transport due to a strike and she couldn't have been more helpful. The decor here is delightful with little touches to personalise each room. Very comfortable . We highly recommend this place. More

Clement V, and particularly its charming owner and hostess Madame Fischer, is a real gem. We felt welcome, our room was spacious (rare in France) and warm. Madame Fischer speaks excellent English (and apparently German too) and helps with any issues travelers may have. For people looking to explore the Dordogne and its marvels, this is a wonderful place to... More

This is a real find, wiith architect designed and comfortable individual rooms in a fabulous old stone building that has been superbly restored. Wonderful village location but has a couple of gourmet restaurants of excellent value - one a short walk away. A quiet refuge well located for visiting sights around the Dordogne or just for a restful weekend. Owners... More
