Awash has half a dozen gorgeous nooks to just sit and watch the river, the falls, the countryside. The restaurant is fine and there is even a cheeky monkey who will try to steal your breakfast. The lodge is close to the Awash Falls and has stunning views. But beware the baboons. One deftly removed 5 pieces of toast at breakfast. When I returned to my room a baboon had smashed a large hole on the wall to get at a bag of oranges I had left out. There were muddy footprints all over my bed.... More

My only regret was that we did not stay here longer. The evening meals are all served outside around a camp fire, with a coffee ceremony.
