Just went for the hotpools. Best rustic ones so far. Big and hot and private and not overpriced. Then cool off for a dip in the big pools. It was great, def go again.

We stayed in a cabin which had spiders webs in the dark corners. There was food spattered on the ceiling. We used the private hot pool which cost $10 p/p. The water was great but the place was very run down. There were only two showers for the whole park. The mattress on the bed was about 2" thick and... More

This has been a run down jewel. I told a friend recently that we had been to stay and she said she remembered visiting in the 50s! the recent owner is slowiy and steadily rejuvenating...signs are there - fresh paint, decent linen, well-equipped cabin. the pools are tired but clean and very useable. It's easy to see how it would... More

Lovely place to stay. We've stayed once before a few years ago, as family nearby did not have enough room to host us all. Not far from Matamata at all. We only reserved a room the morning of the stay, and while only a basic cabin, it was very cheap and clean. BYO blanket, but pillow and sheet provided. Mattress... More

This really is an amazing find. Not flash (at all ) but just the right place if you want to do NOTHING all day. Amazing private pool (add no kids, moonlight, no lights bar a small lantern holding a small candle). Amazing hosts, great atmosphere. Going back this weekend and it is well worth the 2 hour trip.

What a wonderful find. If you want modern....don't bother. This is a classic Kiwi holiday park, reminisant of childhood days. The pools are fantastic, and with the 3 different temperatures there was a pool for everyone. Yes the place is looking tired, but was clean & tidy. Management very friendly. We can't wait to go back.

stayed there for several weeks through jan and found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. The rooms were well kept and very clean. OK, they're not up to 2010 latest fashion, but pleasant staff are worth their weight in gold. The grounds were well kept and I slept well throughout my stay. As a female solo traveler, I... More

This place needs a complete makeover the rooms look lie they have not been updated since 1980 and i actually felt scared that one of the local permanent caravan residents was going to steal my car. The pools are full of leaves and the hot springs are a joke. Do not stay here unless you are looking to spend a... More
