We had a lovely stay for two nights at Strumhor. Olga was really kind and helpful, and the situation of the B&B is fantastic - the sunset from the the conservatory is worth seeing! There are loads of useful books and information leaflets etc available. Great choice of breakfast too - enjoyed delicious eggs benedict and smoked salmon scrambled eggs.... More

Thank you so much for you very kind review. I am so sorry you were disturbed before breakfast. I have been aware of the problem, and having given this some thought, I am going to start breakfast from 8 a.m. except on the few occasions when someone needs to go for an early ferry . Hope to see you again... More

I stayed here for a few nights whilst my mum & dad stayed in north leading with their caravan. I just wanted somewhere to have breakfast & sleep but I got so much more than that!! On arrival I was met by Olga who was very welcoming. I had a quick tour of the house & knew straight away my... More

Stumhor is a B&B with a difference; the Guest’s Lounge area expands out into an observatory to take advantage of the B&B’s idyllic position overlooking the wide tidal channel of water which flows under the Connel Bridge. The observatory has high quality binoculars and an extensive range of reference books, and Olga welcomed us with complimentary tea, coffee and muffins... More

My husband and I stayed for one night whilst doing a trip around Western Scotland - fortunately we got in after a last minute cancellation . The welcome from Olga was great - tea and lemon cake on arrival, the view from the sunroom over the falls beautiful, lots of books to borrow and read and a beautiful lounge to... More

We originally booked two nights at this B & B but due to adverse weather conditions we wanted to change our plans and move on after only one night. Olga was very understanding about this and only charged us for one night's stay which was extremely kind of her. We had a very comfortable stay in a spotlessly clean room... More

Me and my husband traveled 360 miles to come to connel, and what a surprise when we got to the strumhor. Olga gave us a very warm welcome, the room was immaculate, she had even put the heating on for us because she knew we were travelling up on our motorbike. The breakfast was wonderful, the choice was outstanding, as much... More

Although the website said that rooms could only be booked for 2 nights minimum, after emailing Olga she agreed to reserve a room for my husband and I. She also helped us book a day's kayaking lesson for us through Sea Freedom Kayak. It was a wonderful trip and the house is lovely. There's a beautiful front room that have... More

I just finished a wonderful two week visit to Scotland -- traveling with my parents. Over the course of those two weeks we had the opportunity to stay in eight different B&Bs and guest houses in various parts of the country. As may be seen from my other reviews, we had the pleasure of visiting several lovely places with gracious... More

Stayed here for the second time and enjoyed again a great breakfast, Olga's friendly hospitality, a lovely room with it's own little lounge, and relaxing in the conservatory with views of the sunset, Falls of Lora and Connel Bridge. Also joined in with the activities and went sea kayaking, run by Olga's husband Tony, which was excellent fun.
