Stayed here for one night in September 2011 on a driving holiday around Europe. The hotel restaurant had excellent food served at a leisurely pace. Rooms were typically "french" with possibly a little more attention required on cleanliness & security. A little expensive for facilities provoded, but an acceptable hotel in a lovely part of France

Rooms in attick are terrible and dangerous in case of fire. We had a very small, hot room with shower in bath under very low roof. Hotel is in middle of buildings and near busy road (trucks during the night). Outdated, especially hallways and stairs. Very expensive. Rates not according to rooms. We agreed price on phone. Next morning we... More

We spent a night at La Tour du Roy on our way back to Calais from the South of France. We were very disappointed. It had a definite "chateaux charm" but it reminded us of "Faulty Towers". It is more of a tired hotel rather than an impressive chateaux. The bedroom was authentically decorated but I don't think the mattress... More

We were very dissaponted with the service. Room was double booked, the dinner took almost 3 hours, which might be acceptable once but not two nights in a row. Other mistakes were make and no apologies!

Very historic house. But lacked the extras, There is no bar or public rooms to speak of. The food was good but not exceptional. The owner trys to do everything himself he is a charming man, but it just misses the mark. We stayed 4 nights but 2 would have been enough. The bathroom door handle fell off, the mirror... More

The building is lovely but our room was tiny and dark with only 1 small window and very low arched ceilings. I admit we did book late but make sure you enquire about your room prior to confirming your reservation. We decided to eat in the hotel as the town was limited in restaurant choices. The set menu was okay... More

We saw a beautiful picture of a french chateux which is why we made the booking. We were shocked when we were shown our rooms which were across the road and down the street in an apartment building. The shower leaked and the ceiling creaked. When I went to complain and see if we could work out an alternative arrangement,... More

We stayed one night in summer 2006. The surroundings are unprepossessing, but you get what it says on the tin: dinner was good. There were two niggles. We stayed in the Constance room, which is v nice but there is a connecting door to the adjacent room, so you may learn more about your neighbours than you may wish to... More

We stayed here for the one night on our way back to Calais in July 2006. We found the hotel charming. It was very quaint and comfortable with an ‘old chateaux-charm’ about it. There is a beautiful stained glass window in the main stairwell. Although the hotel was situated in the centre of the town, it was a very quiet... More
