Since when were bunkhouses smart and chic? Music on Sunday afternoon from @haguemusic. Very recommended cafe for cyclists, walkers, relaxers with tasty honest food. Returned twice already! Free wifi and a nice welcome. Did not stay here - but would!

I can only comment on the cafe but suffice to say it has been designed by someone with a sense of style yet shows the warmth of welcome and value for money the area is well known for. Excellent coffee which hit the spot on a chilly morning.
We just stopped off for a spot of lunch in this unusual cafe. The staff were friendly and we had a good conversation with the owner. We had a some nachos with a bacon, brie and cranberry pannini which was lovely. We sat in the 'snug' seats to the right of the entrance and did some people watching. A nice...

Very welcoming hostel, with comfortable lounge to relax in. Building is converted victorian school house, refurbished as hostel 2010. Comfortable beds, free tea and coffee, good views of bridge. Delicious cafe downstairs - did a great breakfast. Only problem were the nearby church bells which chime every 15 mins throughout the night, so bring ear plugs!
Didn't stay in the bunkhouse but ate in the cafe. Food was very good, with a decent vegetarian choice, and friendly service. Nice big tables, so didn't feel cramped like many cafes can. Lovely to be able to take the dogs in with us, and even though a few people also had their dogs with them, the canine presence was...

We called in for afternoon ytea following a 'moderate' 5 mile walk - it was hard, not moderate! We had tea, coffee and cakes and it was lovely. I am a huge fan of afternoon tea including a scone and this place did not disappoint. If we're ever in the area again we shall definitely go there and try either...

Following on from a wonderful Christmas meal, crackers, festive attire and a jazz player to set the atmosphere, I stayed in the Bunkhouse. It is the most luxuorious bunkhouse I have ever been in and I was really toasty all night! Thank you!
While on a short break in Rothbury and looking for a "light" lunch we were advised to try The Bunkhouse. What a good idea, the Northumbria Broth served in very generous portions is just delicious. The service is very friendly and a great atmosphere prevails. Highly reccomended !
Jackie who worked there was lovely! We got lost trying to find the bunkhouse one late, rainy night so she kept on calling us to help us find our way.
The bunkhouse is in a good location, located in the village centre and not to far if you wish to drive to the castles/parks in the area.
The accomodation was...

The atmosphere here is very welcoming. The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable and very good value for money. The cafe offers a variety of freshly cooked dishes. Rothbury is a beautiful village in the heart of the Northumberland National Park and a great place to base yourself for a walking, cycling or Northumbrian coast holiday. Highly recommended.
