Spent two holidays at this hotel and would book a third without hesitation. the views are wonderful, the location is residential but quiet. Es Castel is not a typical beach resort (no beach) but if you love spain and like to be in a genuine town where real people live and work - this is the place. The harbour area... More

we stayed at the hotel in september 2011. most comments made by others i agree with; the lounge area has fantastic views but with a little money the furniture could be updated and make it a place to fully relax in. there is no outside space to sit in the evening to enjoy the view... no windows are open (obviously... We had read slightly mixed reviews before we went and although we had a lovely holiday I think this hotel needs some improvements. The location for us was ideal - a 10 minute easy walk into Cales Fonts for lots of restaurants and bars - we tried Dinkums which we thought food was average but the owner was a loveable character... I stayed at this hotel with my husband, 7 year old and parents. This was our second stay and we are already planning our third. It is a small and friendly hotel, not luxury but clean and comfortable with superb staff. Probably not ideal for children but in August its nice to find somewhere that isnt over run with kids... My parents have stayed there two years running and frankly I don't expect them to return, despite the reasonable rates charged. The hotel views are superb, pool area and gardens too but the hotel is " tired". The staff are very pleasant and helpful but they are rather scarce. The evening meals served buffet style had all that you could possible... More

Stayed for two weeks August 2011 first week we had a lot of very noisy children staying at the hotel ,the place was very clean and when you could find them the staff were fine but if you wanted a drink in the day you usually had to go to reception to get them to ring elsewhere in the hotel... More

We booked this hotel at the last minute (5 days before we flew) and had checked on Trip Advisor that it would be ok. In fact it came out as the no.1 hotel, and we were not disappointed. We were surprised to get one of the nicest rooms, ok a little smaller as it was at the front and slightly... More

This was our 4th visit in six years which says it all. Beautiful views as it is situated right on the water's edge overlooking the harbour.Ideal for a quiet, relaxing, civilised holiday. Room was perfect, views across to Mahon. Breakfast - excellent choice to suit all tastes. The coffee machine is a very good addition as you do not have... More

I do wonder about some reviewers who feel the need to nit pick and find something (even if it's the fact that the desserts are in small portions which by the way we loved as we generally didn't have a lot of room left by then). There isn't anything bad to say about this hotel or it's location unless you're... More

Our second time and the hotel and resort has lost none of its charm, wonderful location, great food, perfect place to unwind and relax. Easy walk to harbour restaurants (must visit at night as a hive of activity) and 5 mins bus to capitol. No beach but the authentic charm and breathtaking harbour views make up for it and easy...
