This is yet another excellent Parador, with excellent service and superb location. The room was quite large and well appointed (but near the end of a very long corridor). The restaurant, however, turned out to be rather disappointing.

The building is nothing to look at from outside and there are areas within that probably need some renovation however I still want to reccomend this parador. We stayed here as my mum lives in Benicarlo and she suggested this was the best hotel in town. We stayed at this lovely Parador for six nights at the start of our holiday in Spain. Our room had a sea view and also looked out across the pool and well kept grounds. The Parador is well up to the high standards you would expect. Unusally the dinner menu includes an excellent buffet where you can have much (or as little) as you want. Location: right in front of the sea and surrounded by gardens. However, there is not much to do in Benicarló, and, in fact, it is not a "pretty" place. Much nicer is Peñíscola, which is around a 10 minute drive from the Parador. The beaches next to the Parador are only about ok...better go to those located in the Natural... More

The parador system rates parador de Benicarlo as a 4 Star parador but in reality this is a 2 Star parador. The parador is in the shape of a U with the top ends of the U facing the sea. we chose this hotel as it is close to the autopista and near the sea. a little expensive but clean confortable and we were sorry not to be staying more than one night.
