At the recommendation of Namibian Tourism Board in Cape Town who said that the resort was fine, we booked to camp at the Hardap Dam resort in November 2010. The Hardap Dam Recreational Resort is contained in the Hardap Game Reserve near Mariental, Namibia. It is an often overlooked place, with most people opting to drive straight past in the direction of Fish River Canyon, or to explore the Game Reserves in the North such as Etosha.
