It was surprising to be offered only the alternatives of a room looking onto a side street for 103 euros or a garden room for over 400, although there is no mention of such an expensive room on the website. We took the cheaper one, which was acceptable, but when we told reception on leaving that the water was not... More

A convenient staging point on the return trip from the Alps but we tried it the other way round as we were meeting friends. It is around 220 miles from Calais so an easy three hours. The hotel lies on a very busy road with constant traffic. The bar on the first floor was comfortable and the reception staff spoke... More

We went there for a gastronomic treat and luckily I hadn't looked at any reviews as we certainly got it! Both of us have eaten fine food throughout our lives and my partner has owned and managed establishments worldwide. It was the best food I have had in about 25 years including eating in Michelin rosetted restaurants in the UK... More

We stayed for 3 nights, I was with my husband and my Dad plus the dog. The hotel was way better than expected having read other tripadvisor comments. The staff were all very attentive and helpful, particularly the reception staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant every night and the food was consistently excellent. Our room, although not the largest,... More

A very convenient staging post about 3 hours from the Channel ports if you are going south or east.

Spent 3 nights there visiting the Champagne area. Lovely hotel, perfect location to visit the region. Not too touristic. Well worth its 3 stars. Food is good although quite expensive. They have their own champagne wihich is absolutely delicious (called Cuvee Christelle). Although very close to a church and the main road and our room being in the side street... More

The service was attentive discrete and charming. The stay was an one night stopover en route. Food excellent. Room nicely furnished. Unseasonably cold each room was furnished with an electric heater as the main heating was off for the summer. The only mild criticism is the shower "dribbled" as spoilt with power showers at home.

We last stayed here 19 years ago and have recommended it to friends over the years so were really looking forward to returning. What a disappointment, The room that we had was acceptable but not good and didn't look as though it had received any attention since we were last there. We had booked a special price break which included... More

Instead of the usual motorway stop for lunch on the way home on a long drive decided to book at this restaurant. Having pre-reserved the €25 menu (assuming it was the one that came with a glass of wine, per the website), I had the temerity to ask what the difference was between the two different €25 menus. Not only... More

Very disappointing. Our third visit and never again. Upon arrival, the receptionist claimed there was no booking despite us having a confirmation email! Not a good start. The owner was extremely rude and unfriendly and when asked how a certain dish was prepared, he said it was 'a plate of tomatoes'. Dinner was served with no interest and complete boredom... More
