We had high hopes of this place from the photos, especially my wife. It COULD be excellent if it were not for the attitude of the staff. I booked this hotel with some trepidation, seeing that there were not that many reviews. This hotel surpassed my expectations and I would recommend it. The rooms are very nice and the building (traditional tibetan building) as well. We wanted to stay in the old city but all hotels there didn't have running water for several days (there is a severe water supply problem in Zhongdian), so no showers possible there. Had reserved a room in Shangri-la's 4-star hotel and then found this one closer to the Old Town area. Quaint, Tibetan courtyard style hotel with modern bathrooms and wood paneling.
