What an experience, beautiful snow, great service and a white and clean setting. The standout things about the hotel and place are the log cabins. It's not five-star luxury but they are clean, spacious and with lovely views. Lying in bed in the morning, looking out through the window over the bed, watching the snow fall, silently and completely vertically;... More

We travelled to Kakslautten - me, my wife, daughter(6) and niece(10). Having read mixed reviews on Tripadviser I wasn't sure what to expect. I cannot understand those people moaning about the place - it was beautiful and an amazing experience. The resort staff were friendly and it was truly a magical wonderland. We stayed two nights, one night in a... More

We stayed there three nights in April 2013 in an attempt to see the northern lights. The staff were adequate except for one waitress from Spain who was excellent. I guess for the price we paid I had expect more of the food. We stayed in a lodge for the first night and enjoyed our first sauna. We stayed in... More

This was our last leg of our winter honeymoon. This is definately worth the effort and money due to the remoteness and beauty of Lapland in winter. However, here are a few suggestiong for those braving the cold for this experience: 1. The ice bar was not open yet, due to the weather. If that is a priority for you,... More

Bottom line (read below for more details): We had a great trip and have no regrets about going. We'd go back to Finnish Lapland, enjoyed our stay at the resort, but would just do a few things differently like: 1) Early December was still too soon for the ice igloos or bar, try going later in the winter 2) Skip... We stayed two nights in the glass igloos and one in a snow igloo. Both were warmer than we expected - our glass igloo was about 20 degrees when it was -30 outside. The ice bar and two of the restaurants were closed but the food in the main building was really excellent and the piano bar did amazingly tasty... More

This little Glass Igloo Village was gorgeous - we only stayed one night, but that was enough. The igloos were very warm, the beds were confortable - twin beds side-by-side, with individual controls, so in the event that there actually were Northern Lights, you could adjust your bed to a suitable viewing position! Sadly, there were no lights visible during... More

There were elements that were outstanding and others that were questionable. Ivalo is absolutely beautiful and compared to it's Swedish Lapland neighbor, Finland and Ivalo in particular is by far the more beautiful place. We stayed in a log cabin for 2 nights, then in the glass igloo for 1 night and finally in the snow igloo for 1 night.... More

Stayed at the glass igloo for the night and spent another night at the log cabin. For the glass igloo - beds were quite narrow and there were no showers. There are showers in the main building. Do note that the glass igloos are not where the log cabins are but when you arrive there is a van to shuttle... More

Stayed in the glass igloo for one night. It was a very unique experience, much like camping but in a comfortable place. There are toilet facilities in the igloo but no shower. For shower, will need to walk out to the common areas. It's more suitable for short stays. Food prices are very reasonable with fresh ingredients. Breakfast was lovely as... More
