Stopped at the Haymaker Inn for lunch during a trip to nearby Chard and received a very warm welcome from the proprietors and the option to have whatever you wanted from what was available on the menu in whatever format. The food was great and is thoroughly recommended by all in our party.

We stayed here for a long weekend and its a lovely location. Gill cooks a brilliant breakfast - I had my first taste of black pudding and its was delicious. Room was clean, bed was a little hard but thats a personal thing to us, overall we had a really enjoyable stay

Gill & Tim were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Good wholesome home cooked food, clean, comfortable rooms. Great for a family of 4 and springer spaniel. Pool table and skittle alley a definite hit with the kids. Highly recommended.

Excellent centre for exploring Somerset and beyond. Nice rooms, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Evening meals are far better than the standard pub fare with Gill making sure you have exactly what you require by being willing to mix n match menu items. If you prefer fast delivery of bland boring pub food this is NOT the place for you... More

A group of 5 of us stayed here for 1 night mid way through a 50 mile challenge charity walk . We arrived absolutely soaking wet with mud up to our armpits and we couldnt have been made more welcome. All our wet weather gear was taken away to be dried along with our boots and was returned dry in... More

We stayed one night in the hotel. Gill and Tim were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. Our dog was made a real fuss of and allowed everywhere that we were. There is also a small secure field for her to have a run in. The food was excellent - you picked the main meal and then could have... More

We were in a party of 4 (2 rooms:1 double and 1 king-size); both with en-suite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and we were all made to feel VERY welcome and nothing was too much trouble. All our food was cooked to order to a very high standard and we were encouraged to select "off menu" and mix... More

I can't recommend the Haymaker highly enough. It's a beautiful pub in a lovely location. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Tim and Gill are excellent hosts who make you feel very much at home. The food is excellent. Mia the German Short HaIred Pointer is an absolute star!

Enjoyed great food, nice room, lovely beer and good wine. Quiet, beautiful area in Somerset but well within reach of some great beaches and shops etc. Hosts could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was just fantastic!
