We booked into this Travelodge in advance & paid for our stay. Unfortunately I was totally unaware of their 'overbooking' procedure, but have now discovered this is commonplace & has been in force for some time. We were on our way to the travelodge when we received a phone call to say they were overbooked due to refurbishment work &... More

Just arrived back from Travelodge Hellingly for two nights. Friday 3d May and Saturday 4th May. Our family had a wedding so in total their was 11 of us. We were all put next to each other which was good. As we arrived before 3pm we had to pay an extra £10 for early check in. The staff were very... More

We usually stay with Travelodge and the price is good, the service reliable, 24-hour access, the rooms clean and predictable and the locations OK, with plenty of parking. Travelodge is now owned by a group including Goldman Sachs. As we tend to spend our time sightseeing away from our hotel we aren't looking for luxury: just a reliable base for... More

Stayed two nights over Easter in family room. We had been moved here as Hickstead was closed. Quick and easy check in. Room was a normal travelodge standard although the bathroom a little dated. The beds were already made up which from previous stays has never been done before so this was a nice surprise. My only gripe is the... More

Stayed here with my young family for two nights. Room was comfortable but little cleaning had been done.( very dusty ) Staff very friendly. Only food served was breakfast in a box and all drinks other than tea or coffee were out of a vending machine or from Petrol Station on same site. building site outside the window as coffee... More

Perfectly acceptable for its price bracket, and given Travelodge's market positioning 'perfectly acceptable' is exactly what it is meant to be and only what it is meant to be. Therefore on that point it delivers. However I'm never a lover of company policy that tries to squeeze every last drop out of the customer as per the EasyJet/Ryanair model. I'm... More

Stayed here one night en route to Hastings. Staff were friendly and room was clean. I only paid £19 for the night so good value, Hastings travelodge was£41.00 which is why i chose there to stay in Hellingly. . The hotel is not in a populated area and has no restaurant. There is a services garage right next door but... More

I look at Travelodges in one way - they do exactly as they say on the tin. You need a clean bed to stay in whilst travelling from one place to another, then this is always a reliable choice. If I have one criticism, and I've found this in all of them - if the rooms are a little cold,... More

We and other family members stayed here following a wedding. The price was very good. The room was clean if a little tired.Forgot to bring shower gel although we had been warned there wouldn't be any. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the room however.A peaceful night with a good view across the fields in the morning. No onsite cafe or... More
