We had a really lovely stay at Fornet House, Alison is a very welcoming hostess and a great cook. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and also enjoyed a very memorable late supper of Scottish smoked salmon and French red wine. We stayed one night in the yellow theme double room and another in the pink. Both have beautiful and quirky... More

We have stayed at Fournet House several times now and fully intend to return again and again. The whole place is comfortable, relaxing and very friendly. Alison always does her best to make us feel at home and looks after us very well! (I had a rotten cold this time and was promptly provided with ginger and lemon tea and... More

This is a lovely place to stay. We stayed for the Dufftown Highland Games after arriving in town with no where to stay. Alison was generous and very accommodating. Would highly recommend this place.

Touring Scotland on our the way back south from Inverness and the great glen area we turned off the A9 to tour the spey valley district. We discovered there was a whisky fair just starting in the area so we decided to stop over. I do enjoy a nice whisky so it was an brilliant surprise. I didn't know they... More

We stayed 4 friends in Fournet House and was really nice for us. Alison and Paula were both very kind with us, the bedrooms were comfortable and tidy. The breakfast was really good and tasty and the attention received was excellent. The situation was perfect, near the center town, and the main attraction of the area, reaaly good to go... More

Allison seemed very disorganised, tried to light an open fire with a blocked chimney, causing the fire alarm to go off at 07.20. Jacuzzi bath in our room was charged at £10 a go, ridiculous! Breakfast was burnt and fried eggs were uncooked. Admitted did not know how to make Scottish porridge!!! although it was on the menu. This place... More

Criticism of this nature is deeply regrettable for it means that we have failed not only our guests but also ourselves as well. We take customers’ satisfaction extremely seriously. Indeed the guests were woken up at 7.20 by a fire alarm, which was solely there for your safety. As indicated, we confirm that we do charge for the ‘Whirlpool’ bath.... More

We've been there for just one night and it was great. Alison was a extremely friendly and helpful host, especially when one of the girls got sick. You don't need a doc, if you stay at Fournet Guesthouse, Alison will make you feel good again. Very tidy rooms created with passion and not to forget: best breakfast in Scotland! Thumbs... More

We had an absolutely lovely time in the Fournet House. It is a beautifully renovated 19th century house run by Alison, who has adopted Dufftown as her home. The place felt more like coming home to a warm house than checking into some hotel. The rooms are all decorated differently and feel more like a house than a hotel. It... More

The Fournet House is situated in a old, big house at the centre of Dufftown. The house has been recently renovated by the owner, Alison, and also hosts her Noah's Ark bistro. The whole house is bright and colourful, with quirky decor and lots of little touches. Our room on the top floor was comfy and decorated in the shades... More
