What a positive surprise was to drive 4 hours from San Jose to reach this beautiful place. If you love nature and and walking in the jungle, this is perfect! Service is great, the food and hotel prices are ok, and the location of the hotel is just perfect!!! Not recommended for children.

When i think of paradise, I now think of the rio Celeste hideaway hotel! We stayed here for three nights and it was by far my favorite time of our trip! The hotel is beautiful and welcoming! Our casita was much more than I expected and every detail was thought out in designing them! We loved sitting on private patio!... More

That last road is a rough one! And it takes about 30-40 minutes to go up it. But it IS SO WORTH the bumps! There IS a short cut, but you really have to know where you are going and you must have a 4x4...only attempt it on the way out...get them to draw you a map when you are... More

The hotel is in a lovely spot, with its own trail down to a swimmable pool in the river. Likewise, the nearby trail to the waterfall and Rio Celeste itself is lovely, if not a bit sweaty. The hotel itself is well presented, with a golf cart ready to take you to your room as soon as you arrive. The... More

That said, we are very sorry to hear about your experience in the restaurant. Please know that since your stay, we have replaced our Executive Chef and even brought on a new Sous Chef as... More

This hotel is in a beautiful setting, and you can walk to part of the stunning, azure, Rio Celeste, and take a dip in the waterfall pools. It is quite remote. Rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated with private patios-ours looked into the forest, and a perfect outdoor shower. The gardens are gorgeous and full of birds, including a green... More

Rio Celeste is 16 km away from the main tourist areas of Costa Rica and nestled right next to a National Park. It truly is breathtaking to behold and no expense was spared in making it a luxury resort. The rooms are extremely large with jacuzzi tubs and outdoor showers. The staff is very friendly and all our tours were... More

The reviews are right, this place is off the beaten path, but so worth the travel. We hired a driver for this leg of the trip and that proved to be a smart choice as the roads to get there are extremely bumpy and it could be easy to get lost without GPS. Once we arrive at this hotel, we... More

We recently visited Rio Celeste at the end of Feb 2012 for 3 nights and we must say this was a great hotel hidden in the rain forest. You do have go on unpaved road for a short drive to get to the hotel but it is worth it (adds to the mystique). The hotel is new and beautifully decorated.... More

Positives: Amazing room one of the nicest i have ever stayed in! Rio celeste hike... long, very muddy! but worth every minute!! (we didnt have a guide and didn't feel it was neccesary, other people around and well marked trails) The staff was very prompt, friendly, and egar to assist. The Rio Celeste was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and location, but the food was a little lacking. It was by no means bad, but not worth the cost. The location was part of the reason we chose the hotel. We chose our trip intinerary based on our desire to see... More

Thank you for your terrific feedback. We are glad to hear you came to appreciate and enjoy the hotel's seclusion and remote setting within the rainforest. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed a bit by the food. I assure you that we are constantly working with the chef to improve the breadth and quality of our offering.... More
