This is a well established restaurant in the area and people (mainly ex-pats) make an effort to get here. Service was good but very old school. Quite formal and that sums up the whole place. Average age was 65+ on the night we were there but again that would be typical for this type of place and it’s price range. We both enjoyed the bread and husband had a rather soggy avocado and prawn timbale. They had ran out of my first choice of salmon so I opted for scallops which were delicious. I had green beans and carrots as a side dish which were also tasty. Husband had a corgette and prawn main which he enjoyed. A good bottle of Sancerre was served perfectly chilled and staff topped us up regularly at the right level to keep the wine cold. Not great value for money but if you are into old school service and safe food choices then el Postillon is for you.

The service was attentive and agreeable. The decoration and the environment. were so beautiful. But, all that went away to the fret with the horrible food that we tasted. We ask for a salad of duck, which was too dry, besides scanty and without any type of flavor or contrast. As it was dry, we request the waitress a bit of sauce and she answered us that the salad was like that. Later, we ask for ox sirloin with foie, and magret of duck. The sirloin, was not of ox , the thing that less I like is that they believe that I am silly, beside asking for it slightly made and being totally dry, too made. The sauce that it was accompanying, I assure you that it was not homemade. THE magret of my husband, even worse, without any type of accompaniment or sauce, really difficult to swallow. I admit that I am understood enough in the sector, and I believe that if the chef Ramsy tries these three plates he would be as disappointed as I am. I hope they improve this bushleague cuisine. and if they don't do it at least they should lower the prices, they are so inflated for that kind of cuisine. Sorry, I forgot to tell about Rosemary potatoes..... just round frenchfries with dry Rosemary al over them.... A good restaurant, or a good cooker, don't do that.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in this very nice place. We traveled together with my brother in law and his wife. All of us were very pleased with our bungalows, the nice garden and the excellent restaurant. It turned out to be a great "base camp" for hiking in the surroundings. There are good possibilities for various hiking tours which can start in Alhauron El Grande. It is advisable to have a car to get to the starting points. The restaurant and the hotel was recently taken over by Xavier and his lovely wife. They were very helpful and sympathetic and took really good care of us. We can really recommend this hotel.

The magic starts at the old wooden port seperating the outside world from this little paradise. From here you walk into the most beautiful garden . The bungalows are spacy and Well equipt, the bed is King sized securing you a good nights sleep and it is like time stops completely while sitting on the terrasse enjoying the morning coffee. From here it's only like 10 min to La Cala or Fuengirola with the busy streets and the ocean. Cook or grill your own food but don't miss eating In the great restaurant In the top of the garden. Truely recommendable and we will be back for sure. Charlotte & Lars

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful setting - breakfast on our own terrace - lovely cool swim in the pool after hot days and then lovely food in the restaurant. Even when the restaurant was closed on Sunday - Xavier booked a taxi to take us to another restaurant - which was also fantastic. We were very well looked after - Thank you.
