Stayed here for one night as we did the Circle Tour around lake superior. Many nicer places in towns before and after Terrance bay. Would not recommend or stay here again.

I stayed at the Red Dog and truly enjoyed my sleep after such a long drive...the next morning when I was about to go for breakfast, I was greeted by 2 friendly housekeepers whom kindly explained that the restaurant was not open ti'll 11:00 since it was still the quiet season which is very understandable. I will definitely stop in... More

We stayed one night during a two-week bicyle trip around Lake Superior. We chose Red Dog Inn based on location and access to on-site restaurant, which comes in handy if your transportation is on foot after a long day on the bike. Our room was actuall pretty decent - clean, well lit, large, and for the most part comfortable. Nothing... More

Traveling over 6,000km for a holiday vacation this establishment was the worse. Definitely over-priced. Found the check-in clerk in the kitchen. Front buzzes was not working properly. The newly renovated rooms are too small and crowded. The available power plug for the computer did not work. But the wireless did. Bed was too hard. Room heater too noisy. The restaurant... More

Hotel/motel selection is *very* limited between Thunder Bay and Wawa, Ontario when you drive the Lake Superior Circle Tour. We found the Red Lion Inn in Terrace Bay to be a good choice. We did not see anything noteable in Marathon, but Terrace Bay was reasonably close and the Red Dog has a restaurant as part of its establishment which... More

We were seduced by the "newly renovated" sign, popped into check out the rates and found it very reasonable. The room wasn't very big, but perfectly comfortable, and in fact newly renovated and quite clean. The service at the front desk was great-a young man who was friendly and whom we ended up chatting about hockey with. What was a... More

My wife and I noticed a road sign and when we spotted the property it looked pretty good. I went in and the desk clerk (maybe the female half of the owner couple?) was on the phone. I wondered if I might wind up a neglect victim but she managed her way out of the conversation in order to serve... More

The hotel is very nice, considering it is in a small town, but I was very impressed with the service I recieved. All the staff, especially the restaurant staff were excellent. Very friendly and courteous. I would go back anytime. A great experience, that will last a lifetime.

This is the worst inn we ever stayed at. Upon check in the front desk clark was horrible. They were busy making plans for there own trip. The room was dirty with beer bottle caps on the floor dirty cloths in the dressor. We made a complaint at the front desk to a waitress as the front desk clark was... More

Stopped here for one night on our family vacation. It doesn't look like it from the highway, but there is an inside hallway for room access as well as the exterior doors. The rooms have been renovated and are in much better condition than the exterior of the building would suggest. Wireless internet worked fine. Had supper at the attached... More
