First of all, let me start by saying my sister and brother in law love this place and stay here yearly, so I booked on their recommendation and after looking online was fairly impressed and we were looking forward to the oceanfront balcony...so we checked in with positive attitudes. Upon entering our room, 608, I was a little bothered by... More

With the Sheraton closed until August, there are big limitations of hotels at the Crystal Coast. My wife and I stayed here on a Friday night and it was fine. Nothing amazing, just good. The room is average and clearly dated. Excellent views though as it is a true oceanfront. Breakfast is extra, so that was a bummer. But overall,... More

If you come to Clamdigger Inn with the following in mind, you will love it. 1. It is an older property. 2. It is on the water and salt water is corrosive. 3. The carpet has to handle wet/sandy occupants. 4. It is not a resort. What it does have: spacious clean rooms, great view of the ocean from the... More

I have not stayed at this property since the mid 1990s when it was still part of the Ramada chain. I am always wary of properties that drop their chain affiliation since some do it because their property no longer meets the health, service and appearance standards of the chain. However, some do it when they feel the franchise fees... More

Do not go there if you want a hotel with WiFi, they say they have it. But it does not work. The smell is terrible. We complained about the internet and all we heard was we will tell management. Was there a week, never had internet. No smoking, even on balconies, what harm is there smoking on a outdoor balcony.... More

I had to go Atlantic Beach NC to present at a conference. My stay was set up already at The Clamdigger Inn so I looked at the few pictures available online before I arrived. When I first saw the pictures I was thinking, "wow, this is really old..set back in the early 80's." When I arrived at the hotel, it... More

We stayed at the Clamdigger Inn for the first time this past weekend. It wasn't bad. It's nothing fancy, just a regular beach hotel (which is really all you need at the beach)! The location is great, it sits right on the beach so the views from the balcony are very nice. Check-in was fine. They were friendly and accomodating.... More

I have been staying with the Clamdigger for going on 12 years. I've stayed in KIng, Double, and Queen rooms. I've eaten almost every meal at the restaurant. This year will mark my last stay with the Clamdigger. The trip started bad when the front desk forgot to put a hold on the card that we used to check in... More

My wife and I have recently returned from our latest adventure on the NC coast and were treated to a delightful experience during our visit to the Clamdigger Inn. This marks perhaps our 30th time to stay here in 40 years of vacationing on the SOBX. Formerly a beachfront Ramada Inn, the "Clamdigger Inn and Restaurant" has withstood the test... More

The was average with high prices. The service was terrible. There was an argument at the front desk about who was going to take our table. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone even offered to take our drink order. And we had to ask for silverware in order to eat.
