Wonderful boutique hotel...right on the sea, immaculate, charming and I felt welcome and at home immediately. I was content to sit in the garden and relax or with easy access to the sea a walk on the beach. The rooms are very spacious, open and bright with large bathroom and wonderful bed.

The Chymes was a wonderful experience! Such a great and personal vibe. The experience of getting to choose which lush shower cream we wanted, the warm hospitality from the owners, the beautiful interiors with personal touches, the HUGE bathroom (with a sea view), the comfy lounge area, having breakfast in the garden listening to the waves...I felt so pampered and relaxed,... I've visited this hotel twice now. And truly love this place. The price could be lower I feel given what is provided, I would expect a lower price and that would definitely lure me back more often. It is also not part of any hotel chain, therefore with the given price, I'm not inclined to keep returning. While I absolutely... More

Love the whole set up.Book a room for my parents for a few nights and they were delighted with the hospitality and the staff there. Perfect boutique hotel refurbished from a huge bangalow. Beautiful seaview, large theme rooms and cosy communal living hall and games/reading home. In simple words...''home away from home''....perfect for a family getaway or a romantic stay... More

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay with beautiful gardens and gentle sea breezes. We were in the Garden Wing, our room was very comfortable and overlooked the Garden Wing pool. We would stay again, the staff were all so welcoming that when we checked out after five days, we felt we had been staying with friends. Many thanks... More

The rooms were highly unique with interesting toiletries and good bedding. However the shower gel glass bottles were difficult to use unlike the shampoo bottles, hence potentially breakable. There was an Indonesian caretaker who took care of everything from room service and breakfast to reception. Though she spoke good English, I had a bad impression of her. When we arrived, she... More

If you're looking a place away from hectic & stress then this Chymes Hotel is highly recommended because of quietness, homely feelings, cozy room & really nice place to relax for family, couples & friends. Actually it's not a commercial hotel. It's a bungalow with a private beach in front - nice view. Each room have their own themes that... More

I stayed the weekend at Chymes on a friend's recommendation and I absolutely loved the place. The room was massive (I took the blue room), the location was nice and quiet, and it felt super homely. I stayed in one night, and the TV room was so comfortable that I really felt I was at a home away from home.... More

Thank you for your kind review. We are glad that you loved our place. We do understand the condition of the beach outside of our place. However, as it is a public beach, we try our best to keep the area clean. We hope to welcome you back again soon. More

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chymes. This will be the place we'll pick to stay whenever we are in Penang. Love the ambiance. Its secluded, located just off the main road to Georgetown. Breakfast in the garden was lovely. The beach needs to be cleaned up. The staff is friendly and very helpful. And Mango was... More

Chymes tucked away in a secluded residential area between George Town city centre and Batu Feringi, the property has a large compound, and is housed in a private bungalow overlooking the quiet beach. The interior is tastefully furnished to provide the best comfort to it's guests. We love the huge bathroom and modern rain shower facilities. The owners of the... More
