We stayed at the Royal George for one night in the Balmoral room. I have to agree with the gentleman below to some extent that the booking system was very odd and a hassle. I kept having to ring to be assured that my room was booked as I was to receive a confirmation email, which didn't come until a... More

I booked the "Lord of the Isles" room for a couple of days with my wife. Not a big room but never felt at all small, decor was clean and fresh. The Jacuzzi was huge and great to relax in. The balcony had great views but was right above the beer garden area, not a problem in February but there... More

I have just read previous customers reveiws in respect of this hotel, a few people have stated that Margaret Kennedy (the owner of the hotel is lovely). I wish I had the same experience. I called the Royal George Hotel on Saturday 4th February, as I was trying to book for a wedding party in June. I asked the nightly... More

Stayed in the Royal George Hotel in November 2011 for the second time, and it was brilliant, warm, welcoming, and the breakfasts, are to die for;if you forgive the pun.The accomadation,is excellent, with a view of the quaint harbour, and the bustle of the locals ,going about, there business. The intertainment was first class, and we enjoyed a dance,to the early hours. Rates are excellent.

Very warm reception and a picturesque setting. Having visited The Royal George on a number of occasions, the hospitality and the island being blessed with its own micro climate, brings you back for that special atmosphere. Stephen

Just returned after a one night stay for my husband's birthday!! Acccommodation was very comfortable with a jacuzzi bath. We had our Dinner which included an excellent steak pie. Home made the old fashioned way with sausages included. This came with lovely wee new potatoes done in butter with a selection of veg - cooked well - carrots, turnip, brocolli... More

i booked this trip as a birthday trip for my husband's 70th -we love the island and he loves fishing. We had booked Monday to Thursday but, due to the weather, the ferries were cancelled. I phoned Margaret and it was no problem for her to change our booking to a day later. We booked The Waverley Suite which was... More

Stayed here as part of a large group of folk celebrating a hen, the rooms were great and the staff were lovely too. We were quick to get checked-in (for the size of our group) and I was pleaseantly surprised at how nicely presented the rooms were. In the evening the entertainment and atmosphere in the bar was fantastic -... More
