The hotel is isolated north of Bari on the Adriatic. There is no beach: just a rocky limestone shore. Off season everything is dead. The area is mixed resort and old derelict industry. Hotel transportation to airport is very limited. Taxi service is very expensive to anywhere including airport or Bari's cruise port. Hotel staff seem to call the most... More

Some of the previous reviews here are somewhat misleading! I guess it is useful to read comments & use your own judgement about where you decide to stay. Some travellers seem to enjoy the negative aspects without understanding the essence of a vacation. I thought the riva del sole was great, reason being that it provided an authentic italian experience.... More

Ok, this place totally sucks. First of all, the people who pick you up from the airport are rude and are late. When you get to the hotel, you are greeted by the receptionist who tries to make you buy some pass to go to the beach or the pool. Like, we're at a hotel ON THE BEACH!! Why do... More

the hotel is located between giovinazzo and the little fishing village of santo spirito-in the middle of nowhere!! make sure( if you really have to stay there) that you have a car otherwise getting to any destination is a real challenge!! The hotel is in need of complete make over-it was 31deg. in the room, and when i asked if... More

Having read the previoyus comments after we had booked, we were concerned however I can only assume that that hotel has upped it's game since 2008. The hotel is still in the middle of nowehere but the staff were excellent and we were charged fairly for everything. The pool was clean and the beach area pleasant, there has obviously been... More

A long stay in the laughably named Grand for three months was a lesson in "Getting Fleeced" from Bar Staff to Management, not only was I over-charged and short-changed by Bar Staff at every chance I was over-charged on check-out by the management. My Shabby, Bleak & Over- Priced Room/Apartment was due Refirbishment in 1975, the Hotel Green Pool resembled... More

Stayed for 3 months as i was working there and the company was paying for it . i found it a dirty depressing place in the middle of nowhere, breakfast staff very nice , bar staff very dishonest charging extra drinks to my room on more that one occation, food terrible, rooms very shabby, during an argument over a bill... We stayed at the Riva del Sole for 1 night prior to our mid morning flight from Bari. We chose the Riva for it's close proximity to the airport and that there was ample safe, free parking. Just some observations for future travellers. The hotel seems to be a "one night stop-over hotel" and it serves that purpose- it's about 2... More

We spent three nights in this hotel. I've found it as a good hotel with good services and attention. The room was comfortable. They have a good transfer service between Bari's airport and the hotel. If you think to spend more days there, I suggest to rent a car because it is located 6km far from Giovinazzo's downtown and 14... More

We arrived by Ferry from Corfu early in the morning to find that we had a distance to travel from Bari Port to our hotel which was in the middle of nowhere. It was scortching hot and the very taxi fare was Euros 45. The rooms were adequate but the view of the sea was way off beyond other units.... More
