My husband had booked a surprise birthday weekend away for me. He had picked Lyrebird and another establishment. He tossed between 'rainforest' or 'mountain views' our children said mountain views so he originally didn't book at Lyrebird. The check-in office to this "retreat" is a bit off-putting considering the price per night, but the manager was very nice and agreed to let us see the cabin before we committed to paying for it. My husband and I spent three romantic nights in the Bowerbird cabin. The complimentary fresh flowers, chocolates and champagne were a lovely surprise, and the breakfast basket was another nice touch.
