I recently stayed at Skibo House on a trip with my 84 year old mum. Liz kindly gave us a ground floor room so my mum would not have to negotiate stairs. Our room was very spacious and well equipped with queen bed for her and bunks for me. We also had a small dining table and comfy chair, plus... More

Liz is a wonderful host who provides a great breakfast. The rooms are equipped with all possible amenities. It was wet and cold when we arrived but Liz had lit a fire for us which was much appreciated. Excellent place to stay and good value.

Stayed at Skibo House for a couple of nights on a ski trip to Mt. Hutt. Rooms are a good size, warm and ours had an excellent view of the mountains. The shared bathroom was immaculate, and the wash basin in the room very convenient. The guest lounge is comfortable, with a big tv, fire and big, comfy chairs to... More

Decided to spend five nights at the Skibo after I read the reviews and am so glad we did - it was everything and more that had been written about it. In my opinion this place has everything that a real B&B should have. Our room was more than adequate in size; very clean; well furnished; warm; comfy beds and... More

Having stayed in a wide variety of places across New Zealand, Skibo House B & B was quite easily the best place we stayed. It might not be the most plush room we stayed in (but that is comparing it to some 5* luxury apartments so not really a fair comparison) but it was comfortable, well fitted and nicely done... More

We had a lovely couple of nights at Skibo, whilst my daughter was on a school trip at Methven. It is within 5minutes walk of the main street. Liz was a wonderful host and made us feel right at home.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a weekend - the house was so lovely and warm and the breakfast was excellent. The B & B is right in town so it made it easy to go out for dinner and drinkies and walk back. We had a spa late at night under the stars - gorgeous. I work in... More

A home away from home!! John and Liz were excellent hosts and welcomed us into their home. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the fireplace and enjoyed the company of Rosie, their lovely cat. We had our own private room and the shower was amazing!! Wished we had brought our swim suits as there is a hot tub for guests... More
