I completed my second staying in this hotel and confirmed the good impressions: the beautiful surroundings with typical rural Alentejo views, experience the authenticity of popular veneration in the little church inside the premises of the hotel and the large and confortable rooms. The eco swimming pool was very good when I stayed the first time, this 2nd time it... More

We came across this hotel when looking to tour the Alentejo region. Apart from the difficulty in finding the hotel (directions should be trusted even if it doesn't seem right) we had a marvelous time. If its peace and seclusion you want then this is for you. If its pampering and attention then choose somewhere else. Rural Portugal experience, we... More

We've stayed for a week at Monte do Carmo, and coming from another resort, a comparison quickly occurred : Time was just passing very slow … awesome. So quite, so fresh, even with almost 38 degrees, and so relaxing that we just loved it. The pool has its issues, some like it others don't (maybe swimming with frogs it's not... More

This hotel is in a really unique setting and a great option for staying in the Evora area -- it's not far from the city, yet you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere - in a really nice way. The drive up, through the cork groves, past all the pigs, was great. The grounds are really lovely... More

The hotel is located in the city of Azaruja, 28 km away from Evora. The main thing is the silence and the field. The hotel has all the infrastructure, including the internet (wifi). An ideal place for those who need rest. There is a chapel (Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo) inside the hotel. A small sign indicates the direction... More

This hotel is a little away from Azaruja and is accessible via a dirt road. Formerly an hermitage that was converted into a hotel. Very beautiful and peaceful place. It has a biological pool that we did not try. Rooms in good condition and quite spacious.

This excelent hotel includes the old houses were pilgrims stayed in Lady of Carmo annual pilgrimage. Nicely rebuilt. The church is very pretty, can be visited (just ask in the reception) and features several very old ex-votos (wood paintings relayed to miracles attributed to the Lady of Carmo). I stayed in a large suite, and I booked through the hotel... More

We stayed at 10 hotels in Portugal and this was one of our more interesting destinations. We planned to stay in Evora for 2 nights, but after reading about various hotels, learned about this place which sounded interesting. We found a package on the website which offered an upgraded room, meal and wine tasting. This was by far the hardest... More

I was pretty much surprised as arriving the hotel: it was recent, a reconstruction of an old "ermida" using modern and beatiful furnishing! The breaskfast was just astonishing:fresh juices, warm orange cakes and croissants, traditional bread of Alentejo!Loved it! The Staff is great. They will do everything for you to have a great stay! In the morning we rent bikes for 2,5Eur(!)... More

This hotel really surpassed my expectations. It is built in the place where before was an "ermida" (isolated church), and the original chappel still exists. It consists of 4 buildings around the chappel originally used to receive pilgrims that came to meditate, that were very recently transformed into large Hotel rooms, with all comodities: private A/C, big bathroom, TV, etc......
