Gawler Ranges Wilderness Experience is by design a small scale operation. At Kangalune Camp there are only 3 tents and a 'Swagon', a bedroom tent for 2 perched atop an old agricultural dray. The camp can hold up to a dozen or so but tours will run with as few as 2. The small team ran things very efficiently. Lisa... More

This phrase was repeated over and over during our three day excursion from Port Lincoln thru Kangaluna Camp to Baird Bay and back. Although Rene and Geoff were in Europe on a marketing trip, Lisa and Rosie were fabulous. After all, Rosie was the artist for a beautiful book on Australian marsupials! We were miles from anywhere except the real... More

This was our second visit and it was everything that I remembered as over top fantastic. I cannot write enough superlatives to describe the magical quality of this spot. Rene and Jeff run the campsite flawlessly and with wonderful energy and enthusiasm. One night by the campfire with access to a high powered telescope was all I needed to feel... More

We stayer 4 nights with three kids. The owner geoff who runs this camp since 8 years is simply amazing not only by his knowledge about outback in this southern area as he used to run a mobile camp before but by also the charmly atmosphere brought in the camp. The tents are nicely decorated, the food done by his... More

This was one of the most singular travel experiences I've ever had. From the over the top tents, complete with ensuite bathroom, to the campfire, to the delicious dinners, cocktails and nibbles, to the adventurous day tours, I just can't wait to go back. I couldn't recommend it more. The owners Geoff and Rene are so passionate about the property... More

In november 2009 we have been guests at Kangaluna Camp in the Gawler Ranges for 4 days. These for 4 days were the best of our trip to South Australia (even though the rest was suberb as well)!! What a beautifull nature and wildlife around the camp and in the rest of the NP. Every day was different, interesting and... More

Two years ago we made a wonderfull 'safari' in South Australia. If you want to be spoilt with everything this is the place to be. Geoff is a very good host and the accommodation is to die for (for us we were really in the middle of nowhere). The sumptious meals and the breathtaking excursions were all we could wish... More

We stayed here for only one night, but I would definitely recommend staying for at least 2-4. Geoff and his wife were the perfect hosts. We walked on salt lakes, trekked through a gorge, drove through kilometres of red dirt bush teaming with kangaroos, emus, birds, and lizards, ate delicious meals, celebrated the end of the day with sunset drinks...
