We booked our one week's trip last minute at a very attractive price. When I consulted their web site it was clear to me that we have booked with this arrangement a basic room in the main building. I asked by e-mail for an upgrade offer but my two mails where not answered. On our arrival late Sunday nobody was... More

Having spent three nights here last year, we returned in 2011 with a party of five staying in two bungalow suites. Everything that was good last year, was still good on this stay. The pool area had been improved and we enjoyed an afternoon swim on a couple of days. The coffee at breakfast is now served from a machine... More

Stayed for 3 nights on our tour of the island. Picked it because of the location and the good reviews 1st in Matala - oops - probably should have gone to Agia Galini - a much nicer resort along the coast. It was quite a shock when we arrived as it was worse than the lower starred hotel we'd just... More

I would like to recommend this hotel that is situated in the beautiful garden. We stayed here only for one week but everything was perfect. We have the room that was big enough for two people and also every day clean. The chambre change our towels almost every day and I have to commend for the cleanness in the bathroom.... More

My family and I have just left Matala Valley Villiage and wanted to let you know what we thought. I have been coming to Matala for the last 15 years as i have relatives on this side of Crete. This is by far the best accommodation i have found in all those years. In the past i have stayed very... More

The cause of rather controversal reviews here is quite simple. The hotel consists of sseveral room types: Main building, garden houses, bungalows. I did not have a chance to live in the main building, but stayed fpfor two days in a bungalow and then moved to a garden house (upon arrival the room that i reserved was still busy). Bungalows... On the up side: Bungalow Suites are good for small groups. The air-con is good but it takes some figuring out. The food is good in parts and we were offered freshly cooked vegeterian alternatives. The service is good, almost as soon as you sit down your drinks order is taken at dinner. The breakfast buffet is frequently replenished. The... More

We stayed together at a familyroom. It was a very pleasant week, the food was good, cleaning was very good, and the people very nice. This October 2010 we booked a bungalow suite for three persons for two weeks. Going next week!!!!! Hurray! We like Matala very much, not smobby, no real nice buildings, but a great atmosphere, good hills... More

We had a large 2 bedroom bungalow type place. Two good size bedrooms with a bath in the middle. The were supposed to be basically new but the construction was pretty shoddy and wires were still hanging out of the walls. I would be suprised if they are still standing in 10 years. The other rooms looked like something out... More

We checked in late afternoon and because the bungalow we'd reserved wasn't ready, we were promptly upgraded to a two bedroom unit. I was unsure what to expect, based on the mixed reviews, but we were not disappointed. The rooms were very modern and the bathroom was definitely the biggest one we saw during our entire trip to Greece. My... More
