Stayed here Easter 2012, as a group of four families 13 of us in total, we have rented many a house for our weekend breaks. We were made to feel very welcome by Kathleen and she provided a wonderful breakfast along with a wealth of knowledge about what to see in the local area and beyond. Thanks to Kathleen for being so welcoming - we had our pick of the rooms but were happy where we were....good shower, great heating for such a big old house - considering we woke up to about a foot of snow on the 2nd day too..... the nice new windows had something to do with it....lovely breakfast with fresh fruit... Built in the 1870’s Feith Mhor (Fay Mor) is a charming and substantial country house taking its Gaelic name from its surroundings: great stillness. The house can be used for self catering and/or Bed and Breakfast and sleeps 11 +2, pets welcome. Set amidst delightful gardens and grounds it enjoys marvelous views to the West over the remote Monadhliath hills. Carrbridge is located in the Cairngorm National Park, 25 miles to the north is the capital of the Highlands, Inverness and 7 miles to the south is Aviemore, the Cairngorms and its ski-centre. Our area boasts a huge variety of wildlife and beyond the more common species of roe deer, red grouse and arctic hares are the more spectacular golden eagle, black cock and capercaillie.
