My mum who was 87 last week and I had a very restful stay and excellent food at Newforge House. The owners and the staff were very helpful to us both. Dogs are welcome as long as they can sleep in the car and the grounds and gardens are superb for walkies!!

Fantastic place, great rooms, service and great decor. Breakfast and Evening meals were delicious making this a real indulgent get away treat! The whole place was spotlessly clean, the bedroom was very grand and spacious with original shuttered windows luxurious curtains. The room also had a large en-suite with roll top bath and shower. Good to see that they're well... More

All the way from the warm welcome, top notch food, relaxed vibe, unobtrusive (but always on hand) staff this really was a super spot. So many thoughtful touches in this beautiful house. Five star quality without the sterility, we will return.

We had a 2 night stay at this beautiful guest house in Nov '11 for a family wedding. On arrival we were greeted by Eithne (manager I think, if not should be!) who was a genuinely lovely and very welcoming person. Our room was the Pickering room which was lovely with a big ensuite, we are a family of 4... More

I cannot think of anything that would have made this stay more perfect. We stayed one night in the Pickering Room which is a beautiful room at the top of the house and received an excellent welcome from the hosts. The attention to detail sets this apart from other similar properties. Leaf tea and fresh milk in the rooms, wonderful... More
