From the moment we drove up the approach to our "Comtal Suite" within the 2200 year old castell, we knew that we were in good hands (the owners not only have Relais and Chateau certification, but they are the senior heads of Relais and Chateau worldwide!). The suites are amazing and well worth the money---multi level, splt plan including a... More

Understated, rustic yet elegant, with great views of the valley and pass to nearby Andorra. Rooms are quite cozy with upscale amenities. Wonderful outdoor and indoor pool and spa areas. Restaurant serves outstanding, creative cuisine while overlooking the fantastic scenery. As mentioned in other reviews, the nearby town is fun to stroll around with centuries of old historical interest and... More

We stayed at the Castell as part of the Tauck Paradores of Northern Spain trip. The hotel is very comfortable, in an old-fashion kind of way, and the customer service is top notch. However, the highlight were two amazing, incredible dinners. The presentation was extraordinary, the flavors, the dishes, everything. If you enjoy a good dinner, you have to go... More

We were on a two week tour of Northern Spain and Portugal and wished we could have stayed here longer than two nights. Katia was our guide into town, hostess and cooking class translator. She made us feel like we were visiting royalty at her beautiful home and castle. Our eight course meal in the castle, accompanied by two local... More

Superb location in a beautiful part of northern Spain. The castle and hotel have been beautifully renovated and brought to 21st century standards. It is a family run business and their pride in this excellent establishment shows in everything they do. The dining rooms and quality of food and service are absolutely first class.

We had a wonderful few days, especially with the pool and wellness area amenities. The service was impeccable, food great and the views beyond description. Lovely. Would definitely recommend to friends. Please send your hotel info to our Spanish Tourist office here in Beverly Hills, CA. They could distribute materials to interested travelers. Mil gracias por su atencion!

This hotel is a real gem! The owner Catia is so attentive and hands-on in the day-to-day operations of the hotel. The restaurant is delicious, we loved our breakfast and dinner. The indoor and outdoor pools are clean and beautiful. There is a castle/fort on the property where we had an incredible eight course dinner and we were treated to... More

Where should I start? Maybe the friendly welcome by the Tàpies family (who run own the hotel), or the stunning views over Pyrenees, or maybe the amazing castle & annex where the hotel is situated. Let's do the spa instead: hot tubs with views over the mountains, a great pool, nice saunas... And then there's the amazing restaurant, with a... More

My husband, 3 children and I spent four wonderful nights at El Castell. The Tapies family (owners) and staff were very warm, friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure our relaxing and enjoyable stay in the Pyrenees. The views are spectacular from every vantage point, the rooms, terrace, indoor dining room, outdoor pool, hot tubs, etc. We enjoyed... More

Having stayed here on numerous occasions it is always a pleasure to return. The hotel has been able to maintain the atmosphere of a well run family hotel over many years and whilst some things have changed it has not affected the warm welcome which always greets old and new clients alike. Staff are polite, friendly and keen to help,... More
