We stayed at Rossendale for 1 night in Feb 2013 when my parents and grandpa came out to visit me from the UK. It had incredible views overlooking the beautiful Lake Tekapo. The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well furnished - we really couldn't fault it. The managers were friendly and helpful to deal with. It was only a... More

Unfortunately we only sayed one night on our way back to Christchurch, wish it could have been longer. Jenny and Peter are such lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. Jenny is such a lovely lady and is very interesting to talk to - she seems to have done so much in her life i.e. publishing... More

We stayed at the Fox Chalet for 2 nights, which is quite a pleasant house. Thanks to Moses and Jenny who brought us around Tekapo, despite it being their off day. It was really memorable trip. You both really made our day! So this is a review plus personal thanks in one :) --- Philip & Rita

Having been advised that the town was full for Chinese New Years we stayed one night in an old property known as The Glades. Built by an "architect" it was not the safest place but that aside the cleanliness was questionable. Beds were comfortable and small bathroom adequate for two. Kitchen was fine but cleanliness suspect.

Jenny and Peter are such friendly hosts. What made me most amazed is no deposit is required to book even months ahead before our arrival. That's what mutual trust is all about! During our stay, Jenny served wonderful spread of breakfast, including her homemade bread. On the V's day, she baked heart-shaped cookies and delicious cupcakes for the breakfast. Such... More

Stayed at the Silver Tussock in December after spending a few days travelling around the South Island. The accommodation overall was comfortable but some of the furniture have seen better days, with water stains on a couch, a mish mash of furniture, giant piles of wood (which I have no doubt is a sight for sore eyes in winter) and... We stayed 1 night at the Fox Chalet. The manager was very trusting, did not ask for a deposit and gave us their regular price at NZ$229 without the cleaning charge which we appreciated. It's a unique "A" shaped house with ample room for 5 of us. The bedrooms are adequately heated although the living room and kitchen can get... More

We stayed at Sherwood. It is huge and has 3 bedrooms that can sleep 6. Plenty of land in the garden, where we spotted wild rabbits. It has 2 bathrooms with 2 showers and a bathtub in one of them, and 2 separate toilets. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The laundry washer and dryer worked fine. Some negatives:... More

This was our second last night in NZ, after a tiring 12 days road trip across both North and South Island, we were welcomed by far, the best accommodation in this entire trip. For only NZD 250 per night, the owner offered us a huge house to accommodate 6 of us. This consists of 3 big rooms, one large living... More

My Husband, Son, Daughter-In-Law, Granddaughter and I spent 4 great days and nights in "Sherwood", which is one of the homes run by Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes. It had everything we needed and was lovely and warm and cosy, with a wood heater upstairs and a heat pump downstairs. The wood heater was all set ready to put a match... More
