Myself and Partner took a chance on going to BLackwater Lodge Hotel in Wexford after hearing it been reopened. We stayed in the Hotel Sat & Sun Night. The Hotel has a new owner and has been fully refurbished. We had great food in the Hotel Resturant and there was live music both nights. There is also three other Pubs... More

Great Coastal drive down from Dublin, the sunny south east definitely excelled for our weekend. The village itself is very quaint and with a river flowing through it, adds to the ambiance. Checking in we were met by a most friendly enthusiastic lady, who told us the Hotel was just opened after a year and half closure. with the fresh... More

your reviews of the above place are confusing various blackwater lodges, understandable when there are so many 'blackwaters. Blackwater Lodge and Fishery-which features in 2 highly unfavourable reviews written by anglers-is an old railway station unsympathetically converted in the 1970s.It owns/leases a number of salmon beats on the Cork Blackwater, which cane be a prolific river in the right conditions. The Lodge is... We visited the lodge to take advantage of a couple of days salmon fishing. I know that anglers are not fussy but get reall even we would not expect to pay 5 star accommodation prices for what is effectively no more than a youth hostel. I am afraid the owners hire costs for fishing gear etc are just as ridiculous.... More

This fishing lodge has pretty much seen it's best days behind it. Though the people were personable the experience of staying there was not a good one. There was no way to get heat in the rooms, shower water was the merest trickle and the furniture including beds were something you'd see in some garage sale nightmare. Speaking of nightmares... More

Just back from an overnight stay at the Blackwater - we decided to drive up to Wexford on a whim and after passing through Gorey - way too overcrowded and Enniscorthy - nice but not quiet enough, we drove onto Blackwater. It is a tiny village with four pubs including the hotel, a chip shop and a road to the... More

I really like this hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights during peak season for €200(for 2) included 2 b&b and i dinner. There is no leisure centre with the hotel but you don't need one - you're near blackwater beach(5 mins car journey) and Curracloe beach(10 mins in the car). The hotel is slap bang in the middle of...
