I recently attended a wedding in Doonbeg and we had a great day. The food was great and the setting were wondeful but I was very disappointed to note that the floor staff were lifting unfinished drink belonging to the guests from the tables. This went on all night. At one stage I got up and followed one of the... More

We stayed for 2 nights in a room in the links cottages a couple of weeks ago. It was a surprise for me & what a surprise!! The room was fabulous - decor was lovely, all windows opened (which is v important to me as i hate the heat in hotels), beg was amazing and the pillows...oh the pillows!! Bathroom... More

Overnight stay with a round of golf. Made to feel welcome from walking into reception to be greeted by an open Peat fire and friendly staff. Wonderful hotel built to look like long established country house overlooking the bay and golf course. The whole set up is remarkable given it's relative youth as you would swear it has been there... Excellent hotel with a beautiful location. The coastal location was the perfect place to get away. The fireplace, kitchen, and huge bathroom were amazing. Walking along the Irish coast is amazing. Breakfast was perfect, service was excellent. The place is remote, but that adds to the charm. Have a pint at the bar, look out ot the ocean over the... More

Our foursome stayed in a links cottage, each with our own bedroom - which means they opened up the kitchen and living room for our group. I hated to leave. Quality and luxury are the order of the day. Breakfasts at the lodge were perfect. Forget about your diet and enjoy. Same with Darby's for dinner - casual dining overlooking... More

I now get the hype! It's absolutely true when people say that a stay here slightly transports you somewhere other worldly. None of the gripes in my real world even entered my mind while I was in Doonbeg, not for a second. Irish hospitality really doesn't get better than this...understated yet everything is done for you, no pomp or ceremony,... More

An all too brief stay at The Lodge at Doonbeg really made me think - what do you want to achieve from a break away? For me, I want to feel special, have the opportunity to relax but also remain energetic and enjoy great conversation, food, drink and service. This place ticks all these boxes and then some. Let's start... More

This hotel just gets better ever time I stay. I booked a night with my husband during the easter holidays. We stayed in one of the Links cottages in a suite. The room was amazing. I could have happily stayed there for a week! I had wanted to eat in the Long Room but as we were staying mid week it... More

My 16 year old son and I spent two nights there on April 7-8, 2012, and we are already talking about going back. The hospitality from everyone on the staff exceeded our expectations, and we were given such personal attention that we thought we were actually long term, dues paying members of the golf club! The GM greeted us, the... More

Second time at villas . As a fractional owner of a reciprocal facility in California we use this as our base to play the great local courses; Lahich , Ballybunion , Tralee and of course the great Greg Norman course on the property

Thank for your review. Doonbeg is certainly a great base from which to play the many great courses along the west coast. It is also a great base for touring the many attractions which are along the coast. I hope to see you again soon. More
