We contacted Heiner as Villa Lodge was number one on tripadvisor. Unfortunately the advertised rooms were booked, but he offered us an 'economic room', at a cheaper price. Small family run lodge with excellent attention to customer service. Ana and Heiner are gracious hosts, making you instantly feel welcome and comfortable. The lodge is close to town and quiet. Breakfast was yummy. Heiner was very helpful with information and directions to activities / restaurants. The rooms were large and spotless.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We didn't stay in the area for very long, but it was all we needed. Close to town, good breakfast, quiet location, clean rooms, and friendly service. Well worth the cost, and a good, inexpensive cost at that!

This place was a great place to stay while in Monteverde. Both Ana, Heiner and their little boy were very friendly and helpful. Ana was great for providing hot coffee and cookies when getting back from tours!
