The self contained bandas are great, the food is very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. As a lover of nature, I particularly loved the songs of the weaver birds and a variety of other birds making their melodic calls late in the evening and at dawn. However, travellers should know that they will have to leave... More

Sunrise creeping over the horizon exposing well maintained grounds, fresh hot coffee/tea waiting for us on our veranda, and a very exciting schedule facing us was the start to our first morning at the Sambiya River Lodge in the Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda. We were visiting the park for two full days as part of a week-long Ugandan safari... More

We would like to thank the management and staff of the Sambiya River Lodge for their excellent accommodation and meals. The rooms were VERY clean and the food was wonderful but most of all the staff were amazing in their service and kindness when we were in a bind. Lovely place to stay!

We chose Sambiya because it had top Trip Advisor rating - we were disappointed. Staying in a double cottage we paid $250 per night about $35 less than we would have paid at Paraa or Nile. We had not realised that Sambiya really is second string. Surroundings are ok - but the grounds do not invite a walkabout. Cottages are... More

Julianfin, thank you so much for your review of Sambiya River Lodge. We were disappointed to hear that your stay did not live up to expectations. As all travelers understand – what might be one person’s cup of tea, is not always so for the next. One of the best parts of Murchison Falls National Park is that guests can... More

The Sambiya River Lodge is a large one with many bandas but also a camp site. Beware of the TseTse fly! It is indifferent to repellent and very harmful. The banda's were allright. Hot water in the shower and a nice room. The very large restaurant offered little choice. A set menu. Low quality. Indifferent staff. We went to Para... More

Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate and value your opinion. For other Trip Advisor readers, here are a few notes to your comments: Sambiya River Lodge offers two-three lodging options: Cottages (individual and family) and bandas are our most common room options. We do not offer campsite options, but we do have courier units – these are... More

I stayed at Zambiya for two nights, last June, asa stop over to visit Murchison falls. The staff was very friendly and warm, food was quite good. The rooms are in rondavels, or chalets, mine was quite small, so small, that there was place for little else than the bed and a night table, bathroom was larger in comparison. Overall... More

The lodge is good with plenty of room, good food (set menu each night) and great staff who are well trained and try really hard. Rooms are a bit tired, not very secure and not a place to relax in.

We arrived at Sambiya at night in the rain and the staff was waiting with umbrellas for us and took our luggage to the cottage. This set the tone for the rest of our stay as the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout. The cottages are very nice - clean with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. We woke... More

The lodge, nestled along the Sambiya River, is warm, inviting, and fits in with its surroundings. The cottages are very clean and comfortable. We loved sitting out on the veranda and enjoying the view of the river. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They made sure that all of our outings-and there is so much to do at MFNP... More
